Hey everyone! Thanks so much for your patience on this one - we finally have an update! This one focuses on fixes but has a few new features and QOL updates in it too. Lots more to come!
NEW FEATURES
Save slot picker: If more than one save is found you're asked which one to use; this should fix the lost progress issue. Controller invert options: Invert camera horizontal, invert camera vertical, invert movement horizontal and invert movement vertical are now available in Settings. Ban notices: If you've been banned, the game now tells you why and when the ban lifts. Fish data has been reworked and fish prices updated. Offline mode: If you have no internet, can't reach online services, or your account can't play online, you can now keep playing offline. Connection quality indicator: A pulsing icon appears on the HUD when your connection to the host is struggling. Graphics quality setting: A new Low / Medium / High quality dropdown in Settings. Unstuck: A new Unstuck option returns you to the last safe spot you were standing on. Snowballs can now be picked up in Peaceful mode, and charge time is shorter. Marshmallows no longer burn out.
FIXES
Gameplay
Training Arc achievement now unlocks from target practice.
Barista achievement now unlocks from the hot cocoa dispenser.
Sled Master achievement now fires correctly.
The Yeti now kicks players properly.
Fixed cannons soft-locking, and players who rolled snowballs can now use cannons.
Collision between you and other players is more reliable.
Trinkets no longer disappear while editing your sled.
Fixed marshmallow smoke showing when it shouldn't.
Your sled now teleports to you when you mount it from far away.
Fixed ragdolls not triggering in several situations.
Sled rotation is locked while ragdolling so the rider stays in place.
Fixed the camera going haywire when looking straight up.
Increased the player camera view distance.
Fixed rocks with missing bottoms.
Fixed pylons placed in the wrong spot in the snowball arena.
Fixed ski lift chairs jittering.
Campfire lights turn back on correctly and fire smoke now reacts to light.
Fixed the caught fish overlay appearing in the wrong place.
Fixed the sled level bar displaying incorrectly.
Online
Joining a lobby fails cleanly with a message if you aren't signed in, instead of hanging.
Boot now checks for internet and times out cleanly in regions where online services are blocked.
Kicked players now see the kick message before being disconnected.
The host now verifies the identity of every joining player, closing a known exploit.
Crossplay now asks for permission when you toggle it, and lobby joins respect your crossplay privileges.
Lobby connection timeout reduced to 10 seconds so failed joins don't leave you waiting.
Fixed a runaway online-services log that could fill a disk.
The game now shuts down cleanly on quit and won't linger in the background.
Menus and UI
Fixed screens hanging before reaching gameplay.
Fixed menus getting stuck in a non-interactable state.
Fixed the pause panel being open while in the main menu.
The building controls panel now stays hidden until you spawn.
Confirming the on-screen keyboard now submits a lobby password or search straight away.
Shop and inventory panels re-anchored so they sit correctly on all screens.
Restored missing translations and localised the boot error messages, including the "Device" label on the save error screen.
Xbox
Fixed a crash at boot.
Fixed a crash on close.
Fixed the game hanging or quitting when the console suspends. Voice chat pauses while suspended.
PERFORMANCE
Faster and smoother UI.
Distant ski lifts, interaction prompts and audio effects are updated less often.
Trees cross-fade between detail levels instead of popping.
Fewer save writes, so less stutter.
