Base Modification System — PC
A new Base Modification system lets you shape your base around your preferred playstyle.
Research the system in the laboratory to unlock eight specializations:
Biochemical: Strengthen biochemical weapons and extend their lasting effects.
Mechanical: Improve mechanical weapon damage and reduce upgrade costs.
Explosive: Increase explosive damage and blast radius.
Ballistic: Strengthen bullet weapons and gain an early-wave fire-rate bonus.
Fortress: Increase maximum base health and repair damage between waves.
Energy: Strengthen energy weapons and gain additional fire rate while avoiding damage.
Evolution: Build up damage bonuses as you survive, with additional weapon supplies at regular intervals.
Logistics: Gain additional free supply refreshes and reduce weapon upgrade costs.
Each specialization comes with a distinct base appearance and transformation effects. Available choices depend on your research progress.
More Relics and More Build Possibilities
New relics introduce additional ways to combine weapons, mining, defense, resource management, and active abilities.
September additions include relics that reward collecting different relic types, repeat eligible effects, amplify relic bonuses, add projectiles, strengthen close-range attacks, reward damage-free waves, and provide extra supply choices.
Further additions introduce:
Protection against a fatal hit.
Mirrored weapon fire.
Copies of another relic’s effects.
Random relic exchanges and complete inventory rerolls.
A powerful nuclear strike.
Base shielding.
Relic recycling bonuses.
Reduced wave-based ability cooldowns.
Relic icons, descriptions, current-bonus displays, activation effects, and active-skill buttons have also received extensive improvements.
Relic Upgrades and Balance Changes
Expanded and corrected trophy upgrades for many relics.
Upgrade prices now scale consistently with relic rarity and the target upgrade level.
Added clearer level-up effects, before-and-after value comparisons, and maximum-level feedback.
Improved interactions between copied relic effects and their original counterparts.
Fixed bonuses being lost after changing waves or obtaining new relics.
Corrected several reward, cooldown, stacking, and upgrade-limit issues.
Elastic Material now works with projectiles that have ricochet capability, including ricochets granted by Elastic Warhead. Their interaction works regardless of acquisition order.
Pandora’s Box now consumes itself to grant random relics.
Reset Dice replaces the previous reset variant and rerolls your relic inventory.
Golden Ticket activation feedback is less intrusive, keeping supply choices easier to read.
Endless Mode Improvements
Added a dedicated 200-wave configuration with a clearer rhythm of buildup, pressure, and recovery.
Rebalanced early waves and later progression across several updates.
Runs continue beyond wave 200 instead of ending when the wave table runs out.
Added weapon recycling and relic recycling events, allowing you to trade existing equipment for lasting bonuses during the run.
Endless Mode now grants Commander experience, allowing continued relic-unlock progress.
Added 1×, 2×, and 4× speed controls.
Leaving Endless Mode voluntarily now settles collected resources and Commander experience without requiring the base to be destroyed.
Continue Your Exploration
Local exploration recovery saves progress at the beginning of each wave.
After an interruption, use Continue Previous Exploration from the main menu to restart from the saved wave’s beginning, retaining your weapons, relics, resources, base health, and wave statistics.
Starting a new exploration warns you before replacing unfinished progress. Recovery data also includes integrity checks and backup fallback.
Combat, Supplies, and Statistics
Supplies now arrive with landing and opening animations.
Supply delivery itself no longer pauses combat; opening the selection screen does.
Wave statistics no longer interrupt play automatically after every wave. Open them through the Details button when needed.
Expanded statistics include damage, kills, resource gains, actual base damage taken, relic contributions, and wave-by-wave trends.
Added run-data export for reviewing individual runs.
Improved weapon and relic selection animations, upgrade feedback, and damage-number readability.
Visual and Audio Feedback
Reworked effects across bullet, energy, mechanical, biochemical, and explosive weapons.
Improved lightning arcs, projectile trails, explosions, smoke, and missile launch sequences.
Added clearer visual feedback for defensive relics, shields, attack effects, and ability ranges.
Added ship landing, base deployment, and mining-robot disembarkation sequences.
Improved ground-enemy movement and flying-enemy animation.
Added animated Endless Mode backgrounds and smoother camera transitions.
Added mouse-wheel camera zoom and F2 interface hiding on PC.
Laboratory, Menus, and Quality of Life
Reorganized the technology tree and improved navigation, tooltips, and purchase feedback.
Added technology-tree reset with a resource-refund preview and safeguards against duplicate refunds.
Added weapon-category filters to the armory and rarity filters to the relic collection.
Improved scrolling, card layouts, close buttons, and mobile touch targets.
Updated the star map, exploration journal, opening story presentation, and menu styling.
Added a training range for experimenting with weapons and relics without affecting normal progression.
Added separate options to hide collection animations, mining critical-hit text, attack effects, and damage numbers.
Fixed resource displays failing to refresh after black-market exchanges.
Platform Updates
Mobile planet restrictions have been removed; planets and Endless Mode unlock through normal progression.
All five weapon categories are now available on mobile.
The TapTap version adds Endless Mode leaderboards and manual cloud saving for permanent progression. In-progress runs remain local.
The Google Play version improves device-language selection and translation fallback.
Base Modification remains a PC feature.
Fixes and Stability
This month also addresses interrupted landing sequences, returning from the background, opening weapon supplies after re-entering a planet, waves failing to advance after supply selection, missile hit detection, lingering poison clouds, duplicate settlements, missing rewards, and various interface issues.
Additional Development Progress
Additional relic batches have been implemented in the project, covering temporary relic cloning, wave rewind, shared ammunition, continuous-fire bonuses, delayed bombs, upgrade-based bonuses, relic sacrifice and revival, base movement, upgrade credit, supply borrowing, run-specific relic bans, and cooldown resets.
These additions are tracked separately from the versioned release notes; their availability in a downloadable build has not yet been confirmed.
Thank you for playing and sharing your feedback. Your battle reports and build experiments continue to help improve Outpost 4!
