Yo, what it is! Guys, check this out, we finally managed to push a monthly patch out on time! ...and we forgot to put "monthly" in the title... fuck you, brain!
Anyways... where were we? So this month's patch brings a brand-new tutorial and early progression, a buttload of new tasks, new supplements, grow setups, utilities, and more. So let's get it!
New Beginnings
Initial tutorial and tasks have been completely redone and hopefully will make starting off just a little bit easier.
Added 70 new tasks or so to smooth out the progression and give you something to work toward. If you're already far ahead in the game, you can just ignore the starter ones; that's what the button is for
The new task campaign now carries you from your first grow into rolling, street dealing, customer development, shops, banking, properties, advanced grows, water & power management, and larger late-game operations.
Added the Shit Shack, a new early-game shop you can rent or buy in the village instead of complaining that there's no shop in "Weed Shop"
New Shit
Added a set of "Smart Paintings" for displaying custom artwork in your shop.
Added the DikPix app so you can display Highland snaps instead if you don't have any artwork.
Added grid and furniture-snapping modes, plus improved wall alignment in placement mode.
Added a set of neon wall lights that can be snapped together to create custom wall art,
Added Shop Popularity score. Location, customization, furnishings, product variety, audience style, damage, and cleanliness all contribute to the score shown in The Spot app.
Furniture and decoration tiers now have unique appeal to Local, Tourist, Entertainer, or VIP customers.
Counters, displays, dispensers, and similar crap show their customer-facing direction before placement.
New Gro
Added early-game plant supplements covering quality, yield, stress, mites, and mold to help you get going till you can get your hands on some legit grow gear.
Added 4 tiers of grow setups with multiple sizes and matching light, ventilation, and watering components.
Grow setups can be configured to boost your grow's Yield, Potency, or Speed, each with its own bonuses and tradeoffs.
Growing in boosted mode also produces female keeper plants with better genetics... from time to time. Harvesting and replanting the seeds allows you to grow plants with a higher genetic potential and maybe even get another keeper. And yes, the boosts stack with each generation.
New Utilities
To help you keep up with an ever-increasing water demand, especially when growing on the more advanced setups, we've added paid IBC tank refill stations,
Added new IBC tank racks to help you utilize your grow room space a little better.
Added hoses and manifolds to transfer that sweet, sweet free water from your rain barrels outside straight into your grow room without you having to lift a finger.
Added placeable solar panels that can be connected to the new battery charging racks inside your grow room or shop and feed your batteries with green energy.
New Controls
Remapped some of the actions for a more natural and less annoying experience. If you've been playing for a little while, it might take some getting used to, but the new map should work way better in the long run.
Added full Steam Deck support: Optimized settings on first launch, FSR antialiasing, fully functional button maps, onscreen keyboard, and co-op.
Added missing gamepad mappings like assigning and toggling between inventory shortcut slots.
Made rolling tables auto-move nugs, papers, and finished joints when using a gamepad for a less frustrating experience.
New Fixes
Added seamless map travel to co-op and improved dropped connection handling.
Fixed all the known skateboard foot positioning, desync, crash, and ownership transfer issues in co-op.
Fixed vendors getting stuck in random places, Highpad glitching, and whatever else you guys were complaining about.
Removed the AI toggle since it can't toggle ego and performative outrage off anyway. Added a bunch of dildos to make up for it tho,
Added another pile of stability fixes across loading, inventory, interactions, utilities, shader preloading and caching, and world transitions.
Worked on adding just a little bit more polish to anything we could think of.
And that is about it for our very first punctual monthly patch. If you guys run into any issues with any of the stuff mentioned above, let us know (preferably on Discord), and we'll try to get the shit sorted out ASAP, as alwaysːws_peaceː
More shit coming soon, so stay tuned.
