We’re at Tokyo Game Show!
Arms of God is currently at Tokyo Game Show, thanks to our publisher Gamersky!
If you are attending the event, you can play a special demo version of the game at the show.

It is really exciting to see Arms of God being played on the other side of the world, but development definitely isn't slowing down.
The next major update - October 21 (hopefully)
Right now, I am working on the next big update, planned for October 21.
One of its biggest additions will be a completely new location built around a new mechanic called Curses.
The structure of this location will be a bit different from the areas currently available in the game, and completing it will be required to unlock the next difficulty level.
The update will also introduce:
a new Torment difficulty
a new boss
a new enemy
the new Curses mechanic
a new location
plenty of balance changes, fixes and quality-of-life improvements
There is still a lot more planned for Arms of God, and I am definitely not stopping work on the game.

Today's update v0.618 - Unreal Engine 5.8
Today's update was a pretty big technical undertaking.
Arms of God has now been migrated to the latest version of Unreal Engine 5.8. That doesn't mean I am suddenly going to start using every new Unreal feature, though. For performance reasons, the game does not use technologies such as Nanite or Lumen, and I currently have no plans to change that.
One of my priorities is still making sure Arms of God looks good and runs well on older hardware.
That said, the engine migration allowed me to improve lighting and shadows across the entire game.
I have also added support for:
NVIDIA DLSS
AMD FSR
Frame Generation
FSR also works on Steam Deck, although personally I still recommend keeping FSR and Frame Generation OFF, with Anti-Aliasing and Quality set to LOW.
Because Arms of God uses baked lighting, the visual difference on Low settings is relatively small, while the performance improvement can be very useful on Steam Deck.
Other improvements
There are also a few smaller additions and changes in this update:
several visual and usability improvements to the UI - there will be more iterations in future updates
a new attack animation for Malach
Raziel is currently being reworked as well
adjusted the attack frequency of the Blood Brothers, as they could previously attack too often
new boss fight music from Ivory Tower Soundworks

Let me know if you run into problems
Moving the entire game to a new engine version is always a significant change, and unfortunately it is impossible for me to test every possible hardware configuration.
If you experience crashes, graphical issues, performance problems or anything else unusual after the update, please let me know here on the Steam forums or on Discord.
And as always - thank you so much for playing and supporting Arms of God. I really appreciate every comment, both positive and negative. Feedback gives me more reasons to keep working on the game, improving it and pushing AoG toward the best version it can become.
Thank you! Dominik
