Version 0.12.9 introduces numerous balance adjustments and bug fixes, along with significant improvements to unit and module selection. The update also addresses module overlap issues: overlap constraints are now less restrictive, allowing for more flexible and optimized base construction while preserving placement consistency.
Construction and Stations
Improved placement for the Steel Plate Emblem, Deflector, Wedge Deflector, Tapered Wedge Deflector, Thruster, Heavy Turret Base, Ion Turret, Plasma Turret, Dual Angular Module, and Angular Titanium Plate.
Rail and Piston health was increased by 100%. Descending Wing, Ascending Wing, Single Converger, Dual Converger, and Angled Stabilizer have 25% less health; the base Extender is unchanged.
Command Centers and Command Units now cap at 140 speed. Diminishing returns from additional engines begin at 75 speed.
Improved Thruster glow, burst, and trail effects.

Combat and Balance
Assault Warships and Patrol Vessels build 10% faster. Strike Warships, Missile Vessels, and Heavy Vessels build 20% faster.
Point Defense Turret damage is reduced by 10% and Heavy Kinetic Turret damage by 8%. Autocannon Turret damage is increased by 5%, Kinetic Turret damage by 7%, and Mortar Turret damage by 10%. Micro Nukes have more armour and are harder to take down.
Kinetic Turrets now deal their intended damage after a bug was fixed, increasing their damage output by approximately 80% compared with before the fix.
Pirate Perforation Mines have improved armour, radiation resistance, and regeneration. Pirate fleet upgrades take 10% longer.
Nebula radiation now deals 100% more damage.
Controls and Interface
Removed the distance-dependent selection helper. Clicking a station part now always selects it.
Holding Z selects its Command Unit, including through ships.
Area selection is clearer and more responsive.
The new Command Priority option is enabled by default. When enabled, area selection prioritizes Command Units instead of individual station parts.
Tactic icons now support left-click selection and right-click orders, including at the edge of the screen.
Improved the splash screen, startup progress display, and startup speed.
Blueprint thumbnails now generate, cache, and reopen faster.
The minimap should now work more reliably across all maps.
Multiplayer, Saves, and Stability
Singleplayer and Multiplayer autosaves now use separate filenames, preventing one mode from overwriting the other.
Mortar Turrets now split their cluster bombs correctly in Multiplayer.
Prevented construction on nearby enemy ships and stations. Rapid Multiplayer building is also more reliable, with fewer flickering previews on structural and armour modules.
Boosted and Turboed stations no longer exceed the normal speed cap in Multiplayer. This limit is not present in Singleplayer.
Improved lobby resilience when player, server, map, or game-mode names are missing or unsupported.
Formations that cannot be loaded correctly no longer freeze the loading stage.
Improved diagnostics when the in-game problem reporter cannot submit a report.
Bugs and hot fixes
Fixed a bug that could prevent modules from being placed correctly in Singleplayer.
Corrected the placement collision shape of the Angular Titanium Plate.
Rescaled the Chinese UI font so it fits correctly in all windows.
