A nifty little update today. Includes a new feature that I am very excited about.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug that would cause javelins to train the archery skill.
- Eggs can no longer run out at the coop in the tutorial.
- Fixed some bugs with the Danegeld popup.
- Fixed some issues with invisible dead bodies appearing in the wrong place.
- Fixed some issues with scrolling.
- Moved some plots that were causing issues.
- Making spears will now increase your spear making skill.
Tweaks
- More clarity around who you can marry and the reasons why not.
- Small tweaks to crimes and watchmen.
- Students will now show in building info for the Learning Hall.
- Training Fields can now spawn carts if a cart is purchased.
- You can now see the tax you owe in your money log.
- A destroyed building will now retain its 'favourite' status in your building menu.
New
- You can now donate items to Churches and Bunkhouses, for the people living there to use. Did I hear someone say "poisoned bread"?
- The travel destinations for carts now has a new smart offload option, which will offload production goods, instead of all goods.
- New building - Watchman's Post. This is controlled by the Reeve and is a place where Watchmen can go after patrol to debrief, exchange gear, and warm up. Any weapons or armour the Reeve puts inside the inventory can be used by the watchmen. This is a civic building.
- Reeve can now issue minor commands to watchmen.
- You can now enable 8x speed mode in the config file - which will replace 4x with 8x.
- Added a Frith-Gild upgrade to Homesteads and Longhouses. Once you establish a Frith-Gild your neighbours can buy into it and pay a daily fee. Then if something bad happens to them, such as building damage, hard times, or death in a family, they can make a claim. You can choose to pay out the claim or deny it. You can also put your own money into the Gild, and also withdraw the Gild funds out. Basically insurance.
Do note that due to the config file update, you existing config file will be backed up and then replaced. Your notification settings will also be reset on first load of a saved game to allow for additional settings.
I have been having lots of fun with Frith-Gild, and it was inspired with my own battles with an insurance company.
Cheers,
Atorcoppe.
