I've been working on some improvements to the selling UI, shop navigation for keyboard users and some more late-game balance changes so felt it was time for a new patch - v1.1.8 is now live! I've also reworked some of the Blessings and Curses to try and prevent certain builds from trivialising the game, fixes a number of edge case bugs and tidied up the UI in general in a bunch of places. I hope you all enjoy!
UI & QoL Improvements
Glyph Navigation & Display: Reworked the equipped Glyph display for better readability and navigation, especially in late-game when you can end up with an obscene amount of Glyphs.
Shop Highlighting: Added better highlighting and animations for Glyph selection in the shop.
Controller & Keyboard Navigation: Fixed an issue where keyboard/controller navigation to owned Glyphs would break after buying or selling items in the shop.
Progress Panel: Updated progress panel visuals and fixed some keyboard navigation issues within the menu.
Balance Changes
Pricing Changes: I've increased the base cost of all Glyphs slightly, but also increased their sell price from 30% to 50% of purchase value.
Rarity Scaling: The chance for Rare and Legendary Glyphs appearing in the shop now scales with the number of completed Acts. Expect to see slightly fewer of these in the early stages but a lot more later in the game. The Gylph that improves Rare and Legendary chances still increases this considerably.
Table Tilt Spell: Reduced the duration of the Table Tilt boss spell from 8 seconds to 5 seconds.
Multiball Tuning: The Multiball Blessing now reduces mission requirement count by 2 (was 3). The Glyph that does the same now reduces requirement count by 1 (was 2).
Blocker Reset Blessing: The Blessing that resets blockers on Ball Ritual completion now resets only the Center Blocker instead of all blockers.
Blocker Damage Blessing: The Blessing reducing blocker damage while multiple balls are active now grants a 50% reduction (was 75%).
Boss Spell Blessing: The Blessing that prevented all Boss Spells now instead drastically increases the cooldown time between spell casts, but Bosses will continue to cast spells as normal.
Act Complete Mana Curse: The Curses that reduced Mana rewards by 8 per turn now completely removes the base Act Completion Mana reward (however Mana earned via additional Glyphs and Blessings are still applied).
Bug Fixes & Polish
Poison Glyph Pool Fix: Fixed Poison Glyphs not appearing in the shop pool after unlocking Poison damage via the Tempest Upgrade Ritual.
Flipper Inversion Fix: Resolved some cases where flippers failed to invert when the Invert Curse curse was applied.
Multiball Duplicate Options: Fixed duplicate upgrade choices showing on the Multiball Ritual upgrade panel.
Oracle Ball Shop Trigger: Fixed an issue where the table shop slot would open after selecting an Oracle Ball Ritual Blessing.
Boss/Ritual Overlap Fix: Fixed the Blessing selection panel being skipped if the Ritual Altar was activated right as the Boss was defeated.
Curse Panel Softlock: Fixed a late-game bug where opening the Curse panel with no remaining Curses available would cause the UI to break.
Steam Leaderboard Names: Fixed an issue where Steam usernames containing special characters or spaces generated randomized display names on leaderboards. Please note this is not retroactive, and only new highscores will have the correct name if you were previously affected. Time to try and beat your scores :)
Tutorial Table Fixes: Fixed some incorrect geometry assets on the Tutorial table
Text Fixes: Minor text formatting and clarity issues addressed.
There's still a lot more to come, and my next focus will be on the Boss battles - basically trying to make these a bit more exciting, less predictable and not so easy for those playing on the highest difficulties with a broken build!
