Adventurers! We want to share an update on what's next for The Temple of Elemental Evil.
Patch #4 - 4K and UI scaling
The next patch focuses on higher resolution support and UI scaling. It brings sharper visuals thanks to FSR 1 upscaling while keeping the UI readable and the view zoomed the way it's meant to be.
Because of how the game is built, the higher the resolution, the smaller everything gets on screen - with 4K being the extreme:

This is why playing on 720p is often recommended: it keeps the look close to the original while offering a widescreen aspect ratio. The drawback - on a 4K monitor, sharpness takes a hit:
With the new patch, the view on 4K is scaled properly and the image comes out much sharper:
The new patch will also introduce UI scaling. The original font did not hold up at higher resolutions, so it has been changed as part of this work.
As we don't have access to the game's source code and the original assets aren't available at higher resolutions, we are using FSR 1 to increase image quality. Here you can see comparisons for some of the details:
Please note the patch is still work in progress. 4K support isn't the only change coming with the patch - we'll share more details closer to the release.
Release date
We're planning to release Patch #4 this fall. Like the previous ones, it will be free for everyone who owns the game.
Price change
Since the game's release we've shipped several patches that brought bug fixes and improvements, including better camera controls and achievements support.
As we continue supporting the game, with Patch #4 being the biggest post-launch update so far, we decided to increase the price of the game from $9.99 to $14.99, with regional prices adjusted accordingly. The change will take effect when Patch #4 releases - we'll share the exact date closer to launch.
