You've fought your way through Kusan: City of Wolves. You've sent us your feedback. Now we're inviting you to help us shape what comes next.
The Kusan: City of Wolves Public Playtest is now live on Steam!
This dedicated Playtest branch gives you the opportunity to get hands-on with changes we're actively testing before they're introduced to the main game.
Your feedback will help us understand what works, what could be improved and where we should focus our attention next.
So jump in, put the changes through their paces and let us know what you think!
👀 What's Included in the Public Playtest?
This Public Playtest includes:
Visual Clarity Improvements Test
The Visual Clarity improvements are specifically being made available for community testing, so we're particularly interested in hearing from you.
⚠️ Before You Join: Back Up Your Save Data
Before switching to the Playtest branch, we strongly recommend backing up your existing Kusan: City of Wolves save data.
💾 How to Back Up Your Save
Open Windows Explorer.
Navigate to: C:\\Users\\{your user name}\\AppData\\LocalLow\\CircleFromDot\\Kusan
Find the file named: Save_Release.es3
Copy Save_Release.es3 to another location that you'll remember, such as your Desktop.
Once your save has been safely backed up, you can switch your Steam installation to the Public Playtest branch using the instructions below.
🔑 How to Access the Public Playtest
The Public Playtest is available through a password-protected Steam Beta branch.
Step 1
Open your Steam Library.
Step 2
Right-click Kusan: City of Wolves and select Properties.
Step 3
Select Betas from the menu.
Step 4
Under Private Betas, enter the following password: KusanPlaytest2026
Step 5
Select Check Code.
Once Steam accepts the password, select the newly available Playtest branch from the Beta Participation dropdown.
Steam should then begin downloading the Playtest version.
Once the update has finished, you're ready to head back into Kusan: City of Wolves! 🐺

We've built a player feedback survey directly into the Public Playtest, making it easy to share your thoughts with us while you're playing.
Once you've spent some time with the changes, please take a few minutes to complete the survey and tell us about your experience.
We're particularly interested in your thoughts on the Visual Clarity Improvements, but we'd also love to hear any other feedback you have while testing the Playtest build.

📝 Visibility Improvement Playtest Survey
Whether something feels better, worse or simply different, we want to hear about it.
Your responses will be reviewed by the team and will help inform the improvements we're actively working on for Kusan: City of Wolves.
🔄 Returning to the Main Game
When you've finished participating in the Public Playtest and want to return to the standard version of Kusan: City of Wolves:
Open Kusan: City of Wolves → Properties → Betas in Steam.
Switch back to the default game branch.
Navigate to: C:\\Users\\{your user name}\\AppData\\LocalLow\\CircleFromDot\\Kusan
Replace the existing Save_Release.es3 file with the backup you created before joining the Playtest.
This will restore the save you were using before entering the Public Playtest.
