It's me, Nova (also known as Turbosnacko). The rest of the team and I are super excited to finally release our latest weapon: the Thunder Katana!
This weapon is filled to the brim with unique gameplay features, sounds, animations, abilities, visual effects, and more. We've spent a lot of time playtesting and polishing it up, and we think it's really showing. We hope you'll enjoy it just as much as we enjoyed creating it!
The Katana began its earliest stage of development back in fall as of last year, when we had a brainstorming session about the kinds of weapons we wanted to add to the game. That's when I came up with the idea of introducing a new melee weapon. Since I'm a fan of anime, fantasy, and heroic cyborg ninjas, I thought a katana would make a great addition to the game!
From the start, I had a clear vision for how I wanted it to feel: flashy, fast, and a little bit OP. Up until now when you play Ravenfield you are but one of many soldiers, but with the Katana you really become the main character! Of course, a weapon this strong has to be kept secret, sealed away beneath the surface in a remote place far away from the mainland. I'd love to tell you everything about the Katana, but it's much more fun if you experience it for yourself...

On another note, we have started updating the look and feel of a whole bunch of weapons that are already in the game. Some changes are minor, while some are much more noticeable. Please note that this is something we're still working on, so some of these weapon changes may be altered in a future patch.

When an actor isIgnored flag is enabled, any bots targeting the actor will now immediately drop their target.

Fixed Melee charging behaviour, bots should no longer just stand around with their melee weapon drawn.

Improvements to melee hit detection, should make melee combat a lot more reliable!
Added a new Secret Weapon tag and tinted some more secret weapons red
Added support for dynamically populating the ingame weapon loadout UI while a game is running
