Thank you to everyone who stays with us, supports the game, and helps it grow. Only two people work on this project, so your support truly means a great deal to us.
Over the past few days, there has been a lot of negativity surrounding the new rules. We have been accused of greed and of trying to force players to buy a subscription. That is why we want to speak openly about what is actually happening.
A few important facts:
- The developer receives around 7% from item trades on the Steam Community Market. If profit were our only goal, it would be in our interest to remove every obstacle to accessing the market.
- Our revenue has barely changed since the new rules were introduced. The number of subscribers rose only slightly for a short time, then returned to its previous level. The new restrictions were not introduced to sell subscriptions.
- Overall concurrent player numbers are indeed declining. However, the number of active players who progress fairly and take part in the life of the game world has barely changed. Most of those leaving are people who viewed the game primarily as a way to make money.
What has changed since the rules were introduced?
- More than 180 linked accounts have disappeared from the game. These accounts were used not for regular gameplay, but to accumulate resources and pass them along a chain of accounts.
- Much of the current uproar comes from users who have lost the ability to profit from such schemes.
- Some of them post negative reviews, stir up conflict, and try to damage the reputation of the game and its developers.
At the same time, we understand that not every dissatisfied player is breaking the rules. Some of the criticism raises valid points from people who truly care about the game. We hear you and are carefully reviewing your feedback.
You are free to express your dissatisfaction openly. No one will judge or label you for it. We analyze not only words, but also actual gameplay data, which allows us to distinguish honest criticism from the reactions of those who have lost a source of income.
We are currently putting the money we earn back into the project: paying for servers, developing the game, and attracting new players through advertising. We are not taking resources out of the project; we are investing them in its future.
Yes, some players are leaving. No game can retain absolutely everyone. But the current decline is not a mass panic among players. To a large extent, it is a vocal reaction from a group of users for whom the new system is no longer profitable.
World of Eggs is being built as a game, not as a platform for making money. We will continue to protect its economy, support fair players, and improve the project step by step.
Thank you to everyone who stays with us. You are the reason we keep working. ❤️
