It’s official; The Doll Shop will be released on next October 12! Right in time for Halloween! It means we have only one month to finish it, haha! XD We’ll do our best!
The demo is now available in 4 languages: English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and French! We hope you’ll enjoy these 30 first minutes from the game.
INSPIRATIONS
Most of the backgrounds and details in The Doll Shop are directly inspired by our life in Northern Japan. We lived one entire year in Niigata back in 2009-2010 and came back several times during the last 20 years. We brought back many watercolor sketches and pictures and used them for reference when creating this game.
MAKING OF
Recently, Jay, our Chinese translator (who also works as a 2D animation artist) asked us how we created the 3D scenes in The Doll Shop. The answer is “there is no 3D, it’s a trick!”. Everything is hand-drawn in 2D, the camera is up and each sprite is bent over a 30% angle, just like on the following pictures.
7000 WISHLISTS!
Last month, we’ve reached 7000 wishlists on Steam! For some, it’s not much, for us, it’s a first victory! Since it’s our first game on Steam, we feel honored that so many people added The Doll Shop to their wishlist. But we need to continue our efforts because - it’s only a guessing - people say at least 10.000 wishlists are needed to be visible on the Steam store on the launch date! We only have 1 month to obtain 3000 wishlists. >_< We need your support more than ever! Spread the word \\^_^/
