We’re rolling out a Steam hotfix to address various crashes, bugs, and other issues reported by the community. Thank you so much for all your reports, feedback, and patience while we work on squishing these bugs!
For our console players: The fixes included in this hotfix are planned to be submitted for consoles next week alongside another Steam update. We’ll share more details once we have them!
Bugfix:
Fixed crash when selecting a Fire Curse-imbued upgrade after rerolling card choices upon leveling up
Fixed crash when talking to the Ambersmith after completing Lava Jungle map for the first time
Fixed game freeze when opening character menu while activating Mecha
Fixed crash after repeatedly clicking a frozen card caused it to level up incorrectly, allowing players to select Mutation skills
Fixed crash when talking to the Fire King after dousing all fire curse
Fixed elite boss stop chasing player after certain distance, causing the run to never end in Frozen Pond
Fixed a softlock when quickly selecting a newly offered card after rerolling Mutation choices
Fixed softlock when selecting passive card from shrine and opening Steam overlay
Fixed softlock when pressing Tab immediately after selecting a mutation during the Mutation sequence
Fixed a softlock after spamming the manual attack button while charging a Treeling Shrine
Fixed X-Olotl's clone stopped attacking after picking up a Beast card
Fixed Infliction’s Starpath quest and achievement could not be obtained
Fixed no damage when colliding with several bosses while playing as Ersa and Dr. Botanika
Fixed Catfish boss would not deal damage after performing its "submerge" move
Fixed "Inner Fire" Starpath notification would not appear after completing 2 runs
Fixed Auto Attack toggle would permanently turn-off after Mecha's duration ended
Fixed softlock after controller pointer move to the background card sequence while selecting a skill to replace
Fixed flickers before and after the card selection UI appeared
Fixed controller required to tap twice to interact with objects after closing the Pet/Character Swap UI
Fixed Amberforge upgrade section could not be properly navigated using the D-Pad
Fixed player movement would stop after completing a level-up sequence while holding a WASD movement key
Fixed Left Mouse Button would stop responding after completing the second Big Chestnut encounter
Fixed Fire Prince could lock Fire Skill card, allowing the locked card to increase fire curse when clicked repeatedly
Fixed incorrect reroll amount was consumed when rerolling Fire Shrine choices using a controller
Fixed some character descriptions displayed string lines when using Traditional Chinese localization
Fixed enemies’ shadow following the mecha spin direction while riding the mecha
Fixed all Shroomba’s skills in the Card Library appear to be unlocked when playing as Dr. Botanika
Fixed controller navigation could move to the Character Info section during Shrine card selection
Fixed controller hover point would split into two when navigating the keybind settings
Fixed Resetcap Relic would not destroy all Fire Cards and would leave a locked symbol on the Skill Slot UI
Fixed Icy Stare passive card doesn’t affect some enemies
Fixed Primal Leap skill could allow players to jump outside the Big Fire King arena
Fixed echoing Lock Card SFX in the pause menu after rerolling card choices
Fixed unable to move Dr. Botanika’s sentry using right analog on controller
Fixed card sequence would end after only 2 banish attempts instead of 3
Fixed "Wave" was incorrectly translated as "Welle" instead of "Winken" in German localization.
Fixed Twitch Integration's banish feature could register a double input
Fixed negative damage value written on Legendary upgrade of Hellfire Zap’s skill card
Fixed leftover VFX remains after defeating last elite and boss using Twin Flame skill
Fixed all Skill Mutation attributes displayed the same values in the Card Library
Fixed cancelling a Fire King skill replacement would unexpectedly return the player to the action phase
Fixed passive skill and relic information would not appear when hovering over it in the Skill Dashboard
Fixed crash when replacing a Legendary Night Owl passive with a previously frozen passive
Fixed softlock on reroll and banish button after locking a card and spamming click on the frozen/locked card
Fixed number requirement for certain Starpath quests were visually cut in half
Crash when navigating to locked slots in the Replace Skill or Passives UI
Adjustment:
Damage numbers will now be automatically hidden when fighting the Final boss’ final form
Moved Starcat’s position in the sanctuary to prevent it from being obstructed
Known Bugs:
Softlock during the level-up sequence when multiple level-ups were triggered as the first Elite spawned
Softlock when clicking near the Close (X) button in the Amber Smith upgrade section
Fire curse spiral UI doesn’t sync with current fire level after completing water shrine
Chimpy displays an empty shield on the character dashboard after taking damage while riding Mecha
Nut N Run displays an unintended laser-like VFX after picking up Mirror Double
Fire Prince’s facet on character info doesn’t fully sync with its requirements
Water Snek could not reach the water ball from Snek Snack when using the Strange Pattern mutation
Hero specific skill that were disabled with disable token will be reset after exiting and reloading the game
String text appears on Fire King’s dialogue when using Deutsch localization
Skipping chestnut animation causes only card’s VFX appeared on screen
Navigating Fiery level in player info makes the cursor to lose focus
Unable to save brightness settings
Unable to navigate to ‘reset to default’ button in settings when using controller
Enemies spawns out of the arena in the Egglosseum
