WESTERN RYE - EARLY ACCESS ROADMAP; We're using a Now / Next / Later format instead of fixed dates for all items. Early Access development rarely moves in a straight line, and we'd rather be honest with you than promise a date we might miss. The timeline of Next items will depend on the actual completion of Now items.

Timeline: October 2026 – January 2027 All items here will be fully implemented and available to players by January at the latest, or earlier. All items in this category will be released together as part of one major update: V0.5.0.0
Advanced multiplayer with teaming; clans, factions, matchmaking, proximity voice chat, and more.
Emote system with radial menu.
Improved combat system and smarter AI, including the ability for enemies to destroy player structures.
Real projectile simulation for ranged enemies (Bandits, Cultists, etc.) and the ability to throw dynamite and other throwables in combat.

Important Note on Animations Going Forward;
Western Rye currently runs on an advanced animation system that looks impressive on the surface but struggles under real multiplayer conditions. It is a major source of the hitching, desyncs, and the naked character bugs some of you have reported. We are replacing it with Unreal Engine's standard movement and animation framework, the same battle-tested foundation used by most successful single-player and multiplayer survival games. It is less flashy on paper, but it holds up dramatically better with one to four players riding, fighting, and building in the same world at once. That stability is the whole point of Western Rye, and it is what you deserve.

Outside of what is currently being worked on in Now, all items on this list are subject to change. Features may change, improve, evolve, or be removed at any point as we build and tune Western Rye toward its full release. We will always communicate changes to this roadmap as soon as decisions are made.
