Hi, everyone!
Let's talk about the game's newest update and what to expect from it!
First, we'd like to inform everyone that Title Update 1 will be released on Monday, September 7th, at 7 p.m. PST.
We're working on additional bug fixes and tests at the moment, but the core of the update is finished, and we're excited to talk about it!
Title Update 1 Information
First, as a reminder, let's point out the features, mostly the same as the previous notice:
Boss Loot Randomization: When you defeat a boss, you will receive a different summon or grimoire depending on the starting seed. This is now confirmed to be working.
Enemy Staff Drop Randomization: Enemies that drop staff will also drop a different staff than the ones they are known for. This is also confirmed to be working.
Collectible Drop Randomization (Removed): We've considered a few things in this regard, and we realized some problems persisted with this across runs, namely the fact that players would have to share outfits across Classic Mode runs and Randomizer Mode runs thanks to a single system save, and thus, the randomization would create more problems than it solved. In the end, we decided to let Collectibles (and their respective rewards) stay untouched for this mode, and we apologize if anyone was looking forward to randomized outfit acquisition.
Enemy Position Randomization: For the most part, this worked hilariously well. Of course, some enemies perform some really silly actions and movements due to not being programmed to be in certain areas. We're working on stabilizing some behaviors, but we cannot promise that everyone will act accordingly, and some may even ignore walls at times. We're running different seed playthroughs to see what happens. That said, so far, no crashing bugs have occurred, and we're actually happy to show some of the results of this below.
Of course, we've implemented appropriate enemy level scaling so people can progress even if they encounter late game enemies!
Unfortunately, we couldn't randomize every single existing enemy, especially progression-locked ones.
Randomizer mode relies on a predetermined seed, so reloading will not change the enemies spawned; you will need to start a new game to change the seed.
