Hello builders,
Today, we’d like to share some news about what’s coming to Memoriapolis in the form of two complementary features:
a beta version of Sandbox Mode
the first steps in the food system overhaul
Sandbox Mode
We know you’ve been waiting for this mode for a long time. And yes, we would have loved to release it sooner. But an initial version of Sandbox Mode is now available in Memoriapolis.

Figuring out which systems to remove in Sandbox Mode while continuing to improve the game and prepare for the update… That takes time for a team of 8 people!
While some requests come up often, your ideas for the Sandbox aren’t all the same. So we took the time to review your feedback, compare the different requests, and think about what we really wanted to offer.
Today, we have a first version for you to test. Right now, Sandbox Mode is a version of the original game with one objective per Age and certain unlimited settings—we’ll let you discover them for yourselves!
Does this first version match what you imagined? Do certain features seem more important to you than others?
Now it’s your turn to tell us what you think!
We’d love to hear your feedback on this first version of Sandbox Mode and what you’d like to see next. Join us on Discord and share your thoughts:

Please feel free to participate, even if your feedback seems obvious to you. We specifically want to see which expectations come up most often and which ones are most important to you.
Food System Update
While working on Memoriapolis’ Sandbox mode, we realized this was also a good time to revisit some of the game’s systems.
We wanted food to play a more interesting role throughout a game, and for certain buildings to be more useful.
Food System Overhaul
The food system is currently being reworked to give food a more interesting role throughout a game.
A first version of these changes is available with this update:
Migration in your city now depends on your production.
If your production is positive, migration remains normal.
If your production is negative but you still have reserves, migration is reduced.
If you have no reserves left and your production is negative, migration is zero.
Starting in the Middle Ages, when your city’s average food production is lower than its consumption, migration slows down.
For now, only the first three Ages have been balanced around this new system.
Further adjustments and changes are planned in future updates as we continue working on this overhaul.
The idea is to make this system more natural and to encourage you to maintain steady production rather than keeping stocks.
Farm Upgrades
Farms have received several changes:
Farms can now reach Level 5.
With a new research option, fields can now be converted into orchards to produce more food, allowing you to regulate production.

Also in this update
A new Guard Post, which replaces the Surveyor’s Cabin starting in the Renaissance. It helps reduce incidents in an area. It’s a new building with a new 3D model.
Fix for the building outline effect. A known issue with DLSS will be fixed in the next version.
That’s all for now—we look forward to your feedback!
As a reminder, Memoriapolis is currently 50% off, so if you don’t have it in your library yet, now might be the perfect time to join us. [dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/2228280/MEMORIAPOLIS/"]
