Thank you for your patience and sorry we’ve been on the quiet side recently. Since the last update we’ve been hard at work digging deep into the game’s code and redoing a lot of it to finally resolve some glaring issues that made your experience “less than ideal”.
The game now works as was intended for the game’s initial launch and remains in a state that we’re finally happy with. We humbly recommend checking out the changes for yourselves. We hope you will have fun playing Pizza Slice!
To celebrate this milestone, we’ve put the game on a 45% discount that will run for the next two weeks.
Ok, it’s time to get to the good stuff!
The changes made today should resolve all of the crashing, save file corrupting and day restart issues that could have happened previously in specific circumstances in the game. We’ve improved Co-Op gameplay on basically all possible fronts, making sure the experience is enjoyable, engaging and less frustrating. Single player has also seen some improvements, so whether it’s your first time launching the game or you’re here to give it a second chance - now’s the perfect opportunity to dive in!
PATCH NOTES:
GLOBAL GAME CHANGES
Fixed the ‘Reset’ option for all Settings sections to restore default settings as intended.
Improved grabbing objects which are in boxes.
Fixed an issue where grabbing an unboxing item during the store box unboxing animation would break the interaction and lock the box.
Minor UI fixes across the entire game.
Improved game reaction times when players interact with a work station - moving to a station should feel smoother now.
Fixed issues with UI scaling.
Fixed various game build stability issues.
Fixed various small issues occurring in very niche situations connected to saving and loading the game.

GAMEPLAY COOP
A few headliners first:
Fixed an issue where the game would not properly run events in co-op.Events would repeat the next day or proper events would not trigger at all in co-op.
Fixed an issue where players could not see their gestures being displayed.
Fixed an issue with loading the game after a “Failed Mission” screen during the Turf War with Greasy’s. The game will no longer corrupt and load Day 01 of the war and will now properly load the save file to replay the failed mission.
Fixed an issue where an angry customer could block other customers in the restaurant. This issue could softlock the game as the NPC would get stuck and not leave the restaurant.
Fixed issues when loading the game with unfinished actions / quests having multiple completion steps. The game will now properly save and load the actual state of the quest. This includes all actions that count multiple items, like ingredients on a pizza or ingredients left in a container. The resolution fixes various issues with in-game events and softlocking of the game.
Fixed issues where loading the game could result in skipping a quest and cutscene.
Added other player animations when working on a station.
Fixed an issue when in certain circumstances moving tools from the table would lock the slot for any other interactions.
Disabled collisions between players for easier movement in the kitchen.
Improved synchronization between the host and the guest - both players should now see all of the actions performed by the other player or by the game (e.g. unpacking of the box).
Fixed an issue where the game would not freeze the time during certain events after loading the game.
Fixed an issue where ingredients left on shelves would change placement after loading the game.
Fixed an issue where a player could get stuck on the restaurant menu screen when a new pizza was added to the menu at the same time by another player.
Fixed an issue where a custom made pizza’s image would not properly display in the menu.
Fixed an issue where the sauce on a pizza could disappear after loading the game. Fixed various other small issues connected with saucing.
Fixed an issue where the time would not freeze after 0:00 after loading the game that was saved after midnight.
Fixed an issue where the Day Summary Screen would not properly display the Bills paid section.
Adjusted some in-game texts and localization wording which could be confusing for players.
Fixed an issue when a cleaned stain would remain on screen, if the player was cleaning when standing on the stain.
Fixed an issue when sabotaging Greasy’s where a stink bomb could result in NPCs getting stuck in the door.
Fixed an issue where the slot machine could close before the player picked their reward.
Fixed an issue where the pizza peel could get permanently stuck for a player - could no longer be picked up if the game was saved when the player was holding it.
Fixed an issue where the game would bill the player once again, if the game was saved after 19:00/07:00PM and loaded.
Fixed an issue in which the game would change the difficulty level to EASY after loading the game.
Fixed various localization and text issues in the game.
Fixed an issue where emoticons of the restaurant’s clients would not display properly.
Fixed an issue where the particles emitting from ingredients scattered across the town would not display correctly.
Fixed an issue where ingredients could fall off from a pizza.
Fixed an issue where ingredients would disappear visually from a pizza (they were still counted as being on the pizza).
Fixed issues connected with picking ingredients from the pizza in the toppings station and putting them back in containers.
Fixed issues where an ingredient could be counted twice on a pizza.
Fixed an issue where the phone booth was available at the beginning of the game.
Fixed an issue where opening the pause menu by one player would immediately pause the game for the second player.
Fixed issues caused when a player tried to kick out a customer before they even made an order.
Fixed issues with NPCs floating above ground level when walking on the streets.
Fixed an issue where the player could interact with game elements while the second player was still reading through a dialogue scene.
Fixed an issue where hiring a bodyguard would not prevent Greasy’s sabotage from happening.
Fixed mixer’s VFX and SFX for the guest player when playing in co-op.
Fixed an issue where loading the game on Day 13 would reset the whole kitchen for the players.
Fixed an issue where the game would not properly count the number of washed dishes on Day 21.
Fixed an issue where interacting with a work station with a pizza in hand would not put the pizza automatically on the station.
Adjusted the positioning of the upgraded fridge to not clip with other objects.
Fixed an issue where players in certain circumstances could see different ingredients available to buy in shops.
Fixed an issue where in certain circumstances after loading the game all work stations would disappear.
Fixed an issue where the game could freeze after buying the juice machine for the kitchen.
Fixed an issue where the waitress would not spawn after buying her station.
Fixed an issue where a player could get stuck in a shop after it closed for the day.
Added missing sound effects from the single player mode to the co-op mode.
SINGLE PLAYER
And again, a few headliners to kick things off:
Fixed an issue where a pizza left on a counter or table was not saved after loading the game.
Fixed issues occurring after loading the game, including pizza scoring problems of items left on work stations (dough left in the mixer, sauce on an uncooked pizza, etc.).
Fixed an issue where the tutorial events would not launch properly in Single Player if the player came back from a Multiplayer session first.
Fixed an issue where in some circumstances the game would crash when buying additional tables for the restaurant.
Fixed an issue where in some circumstances the player could not hire the waitress.
Fixed an issue where the game could crash after expanding the restaurant with the waitress station.
Fixed an issue where the rat poison (object) and rat poison quest in Day 7 would disappear if the game was saved and loaded before completing the quest.
Fixed an interaction issue with a pizza left on the topping station, which had to be picked up first before being able to interact with it, after loading the game.
Fixed an issue where the game would not immediately count star progress during the “War with Greasy”
Changed how the turf war with Greasy pizza counts the money objective - now the game counts how much money was earned that day only, previously it was balance based, meaning that the spent was deduced from earnings.
Fixed an issue where the statistics for the Turf War with Greasy’s could revert back to Day 01.
Fixed an issue where an empty jar of pesto would disappear when left on the table or counter.
Fixed an issue where using pesto would not properly display the amount of pesto left in the jar.
Fixed an issue where the tutorial in Day 3 did not properly count ingredients added to the pizza.
Fixed issues where the game would not allow creating a new custom pizza that shares the name with a previously created and deleted pizza.
Fixed an issue where white mozzarella was invisible when trying to place it on the pizza in the toppings station.
Fixed a dialogue issue with poisoning the client. If the player doesn’t poison the client the sanitation check happening later will provide an alternative dialogue now.
Fixed an issue where zucchini placed on a pizza would immediately turn into an eggplant.
Fixed an issue where the phone booth could be completely locked out, if the player was interacting with it during a cutscene dialogue.
Fixed an issue where loading an autosave game state would instead load a manual save.
Made rebalance changes for the Turf War against Greasy’s.
Fixed an issue where the player could not create a manual save on Day 01.
Fixed an issue where in some instances the ingredients stored in containers in the upgraded fridge would spoil on day change.
Fixed various issues connected to the juice machine.
Fixed an issue where in certain circumstances the dough could survive outside of the fridge without spoiling to the next day.
Fixed issues with key bindings - after changing the bindings the game should now display the new buttons correctly on tooltips.
Fixed an issue where in certain circumstances purchased drinks couldn’t be unpacked, leading to a game crash and save file corruption.
Fixed an issue where the juice machine would play out the animation of pouring drinks indefinitely until the player came to make a drink for the first time.
Fixed an issue where Alfonso’s marketing animation could break, resulting in an animation loop of trying to pick the sign up and immediately dropping it.
