Here are some of the enhancements we've been working on.
New Upgrade: Lock-in starting equipment
You can find this in the character upgrades section of the hub (you will need to have 12 equipment items unlocked).
It lets you lock in any starting item in exchange for 1 token per run.
In addition to pre-existing upgrades such as selecting a background & starting rune, this allows for much more loadout customization.
Aim Assist
We've added an aim assist system to gamepad controls to make shooting/casting/throwing/spear stabbing etc. easier. It targets the nearest opponent in the cardinal direction you're facing, without compromising your ability to hit traps or contraptions accurately.
You can change the intensity in Options->Controls->Gamepad (Low by default)
Note: Aiming with the right stick also overrides this behavior.
Lock On Aiming Adjustments 𖦏
The other mechanic, where you can lock onto a specific target by flicking the right stick in their direction, is still present.
However, it is now subdued when the target is out of range, and has smarter targeting.
🎵 New music and sound effects
- Added several new sound effects to different aspects of the game.
- Added a new music track that plays in certain arenas.
Other Quality of life changes
These include:
- Several meta-upgrades are now much cheaper.
- The 6th world is slightly harder.
- Levelling up past max-level now still awards tokens.
- Heavily reworked several menus.
- Increased hit feedback and effects of melee strikes.
- Fixed critical hits sometimes not registering (this will increase your average damage output)

Additional Patches 1.5.19 & 1.5.20
- Updated weapon wheel prompts.
- Charged long bow shots can now stun opponetns.
- Rush level theme is less common in first area
- Added scaling speedrun loot to arenas after the first.
- Fixed volume controls not being applied consistently to all sound effects
- Substantially buffed crystal weapons (which were previously weaker than steel).
- Fixed healing source beams between Necromancer and crystals not being visually clear
- Increased stun time on picking up opponents.
Additional Patch 1.5.21
- Made initial areas a bit easier.
- Turrets have more HP on being hacked.
- Lanterns can't be destroyed by enemies/mechanical traps whilst being held by hand.
- Reduced blur radius on easy/normal mode
- Braziers and Boulders are slightly lighter for throwing.
- Reduced cost of unlocking subsequent world shortcuts.
- UI hint adjustments.
