💬 Developer Message
We finally had the chance to dedicate some serious time to updating Boss Arena!
If you played any of the earlier versions during Early Access, you'll notice that a lot has changed. We've reworked several systems, introduced more build possibilities, improved combat, and completely revamped the overall progression experience.
We've also brought several combat improvements developed for Goldilock One: The Mists of Jakaira, our main game, which is also currently available in Early Access on Steam.
We hope this new version delivers a much more complete, fun, and challenging experience!
🎮 New Flow & Progression
The beginning of the game has been completely reworked.
The previous tutorial has been replaced with a new, faster, more direct and straightforward tutorial.
Overall progression has been rebalanced to provide a smoother experience across the different challenges.
Added a new XP-based attribute progression system.
When leveling up, players now receive Attribute Points that can be distributed across different stats.
This significantly expands the possibilities for creating different builds and playstyles.
⚔️ Combat Improvements
The combat system has received several improvements originally developed for Goldilock One: The Mists of Jakaira, which have now been brought to Boss Arena as well.
General improvements to combat responsiveness and mechanics.
Increased the number of special attacks and abilities available.
New special moves are available for both main combat styles:
Gauntlet & Shield
Two-Handed Axe
The expanded selection of equipment, abilities, and attributes allows for a much wider variety of strategies and builds.
👹 New Boss Fight – Fat Mexper
A brand-new challenge room has been added to Boss Arena!
Inside, you'll face the Fat Mexper, a new Boss designed to offer a different challenge from previous encounters.
Prepare your build, choose your equipment and abilities, and discover the best strategy to defeat him.
We hope it's as challenging as it is fun!
🛡️ More Weapons, Armor & Builds
The shops have received a major update.
Added many more weapon and armor options.
The increased equipment variety allows for more specialized builds.
Combine equipment, attributes, and special moves to find the combat style that works best for you.
With the new attribute progression system, these choices now have an even greater impact during each challenge.
🤝 Companion System
The Companion System has also been reworked.
You can now hire:

Markus
They can join you and help you face the challenges of Boss Arena.
Experiment with different companions and discover how each one can complement your combat strategy.
📈 XP & Attribute Progression
We've added a new layer of progression to Boss Arena.
Earn XP throughout your journey.
Level up your character.
Earn Attribute Points.
Distribute those points to improve your character's stats.
Combine different attributes with weapons, armor, and abilities.
Our goal is to give players greater freedom to experiment and create different builds as they progress.

In addition to these major changes, we've made many other adjustments to balancing, combat, progression, and overall quality of life.
Players who experienced previous versions of Boss Arena will probably notice many smaller changes throughout the game.
