The expansion becomes available after completing the main Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter campaign.

Cast off for Hardshell Brook
Arlo has survived everything the frozen North could throw at him, but his next adventure begins with something a little different.
Two shipwrecked sailors, Jaimie and Sam, have washed ashore with an unusual plan: build an aquarium filled with rare sea life, attract visitors to Hardshell Brook and earn enough coin to repair their vessel.
There’s just one problem.
Someone needs to do the fishing.
Armed with a fishing rod, Arlo can explore fishing spots around Hardshell Brook and hunt down 32 different aquatic creatures, gradually filling the aquarium one catch at a time.
Fishing brings a different pace to life in the Ratdom, but don't expect every trip to the water to be peaceful. Some of the creatures beneath the surface would much rather make a meal of Arlo than end up behind aquarium glass.
And the longer Arlo spends helping Jaimie and Sam, the clearer it becomes that there may be more to their story than they first revealed.

A rougher kind of seaside break
Hardshell Brook might be warmer than the snow-covered Wastes, but that doesn't make it any safer.
Across 11 new quests, Arlo will face fresh enemies on land and beneath the waves, alongside 10 new boss battles built around new attacks and hazards.
Blood and Brine also takes combat beyond dry land with new ship arena battles. One moment you might be exploring the harbour or checking a fishing spot; the next, you'll be fighting for survival on deck against something enormous that has decided your boat looks like lunch.
There are also nine new armour sets to discover, giving Arlo more equipment to take into battle – and plenty of new ways to dress appropriately for a particularly violent trip to the seaside.

Indie heroes enter the Ratdom
Blood and Brine also brings some familiar faces – or at least their armour – into the world of Tails of Iron 2.
We’ve teamed up with some of our favourite independent studios to introduce crossover armour inspired by:
- Blasphemous
- Cult of the Lamb
- DAVE THE DIVER
- Death’s Door
- Moonlighter
- Beyond Galaxyland
Rather than simply dropping these costumes into the game, the Odd Bug Studio art team has redrawn and adapted each design to fit Arlo and the hand-drawn medieval world of the Ratdom.
Seeing these recognisable indie heroes reimagined as armour for one very determined rat has been a lot of fun, and we’re hugely grateful to every studio that allowed us to bring a piece of their world into ours.

Thank you for joining Arlo’s journey
What began as another adventure for Arlo grew into a much bigger addition than we first expected.
Blood and Brine introduces a new coastal region, 11 quests, 10 bosses, fishing, ship battles, new armour, new music and a celebration of some of the indie games and characters we love.
More importantly, it’s our way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter.
Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter – Blood and Brine is available now as a free expansion for all players.
