Today, a quick post to clarify the introduction of a feature that came from my imagination and wasn't a copied idea.
I love the "Top Gun" series; it's my favorite movie.
Years ago, "Battlefield" was my favorite game too. Unfortunately, lately it's become too frenetic, and I think it has lost its tactical component.
As you know, Battlefield 6 is about to release a Top Gun update, which makes me very happy.
They're finally introducing a co-pilot on some planes, which is a really cool thing and something they've been waiting for years.
I'm writing this post specifically to let you know that this feature about two-seater aircraft is already implemented in HWB; it's already working, so it won't be a feature copied from BF6.
I know it might not make a difference to you, but since the only asset of indie games is originality, I want to highlight the most innovative ideas I include in my games.
Sure, two-seater planes might not be a new idea, but it's still very, very rare.
While we're at it, I'll throw in a few weapons the co-pilot will be able to use in HWB upon release:
- 7.62 mm machine gun
- 12.7 mm machine gun
- 20 mm autocannon
- 30 mm autocannon
- 40 mm grenade launcher
- anti-aircraft missiles
- anti-tank missiles
- rockets
- guided bombs (various warheads and guidance systems)
Two-crew planes will be a real step ahead of single-crew planes in terms of firepower, but they will suffer a penalty in agility due to their greater weight.
As I've said before, I really care about the cooperative aspect of the game!
For me, seeing people cooperate to achieve something is one of the most beautiful things in the world.
Therefore, I'll try to include as many features as possible that give those who cooperate an advantage.
I might write a post dedicated to this later.
