Aaah... Summertime! Nothing says summer like the feeling of wet sand stuck to sunscreen on that one spot you can’t quite reach. No bueno. And no thanks, summer!
But here on Luma Island, summer has got your back. You see, everybody gets two scoops of ice cream instead of one, totally free of charge. And there are laws against reserving sun loungers with beach towels at 4am. And most important of all, a very special summer guest has arrived...
It’s Dave. THE Dave. Yep, Dave the Diver has washed ashore in town. And no, although he might be a bit of a celebrity, you won’t be expected to put sunscreen on his back, thankyouverymuch; he’s very sensibly wearing a wetsuit. He does, however, need your help finding his way home to his own game again.
I don’t want to spoil it for you, but let’s just say I hope you like fishing, because things are about to get, um, fishy. And a little spicy too.
If you can handle all that, there are fishing unlocks and rewards galore waiting for you: Crab Pots and Fishing Nets that work while you very much don’t, an Aquarium and a Terrarium for showing off, and a Fish Hatchery for lazy anglers.
Not to mention the new Summer Bundle, available in Balthazar's shop. It’s got everything* you need to throw a beach party (*Friends not included 🥲).

New Features
New quest:
Dave the Diver lost one of his flippers while chasing exotic fish for Bancho’s restaurant and ended up on Luma Island. Now, he needs your help before he can find his way home. Be nice to him. He’s had a rough week.
Revamped fishing:
New fishing spot: It’s small. It’s rocky. It’s spicy. Welcome to Spicy Rock, home to 3 new species of fish and the setting of the new quest.
Lucky streak: Reel in several fish in a row, and your chances of doubling your catch will keep climbing. Yep, statistically speaking, this is what feeling unstoppable is like. Can I have some of that IRL please?
Fish Roe: Every time you catch a fish, there’s now a chance you’ll also reel in Fish Roe for the new Fish Hatchery. Translation: each fish now comes with a chance of more fish. Like compound interest and other small talk topics adults enjoy talking about at summer BBQs.
Fishing signs on the map: Check the map for handy new fishing signs showing you where the fish are biting. Or which areas to ignore if you don’t even like fishing in the first place.
New rewards:
Fish Hatchery: Use Fish Roe to raise fish right on your farm. Work smarter, not harder, people, and let the fish come to you.
Crab Pots: Give your Bug Net a rest and let the Crab Pots catch Shrimp, Crayfish, Crabs and Lobsters all day, every day, while you’re busy doing more important stuff. Such as reading these release notes.
Fishing Nets: Gather whatever washes ashore, and a few fish too, without lifting a finger. Well, you’ll obviously have to place the Fishing Net first, but after that your finger can kick back and relax in the sun.
Aquarium: Show off your favorite catches in the new Aquarium. Now your friends can admire your fish, and your fish can, uh, admire your friends? Sure, let’s go with that.
Terrarium: Build a shiny new home for critters you’ve kidnapped from their natural environments. I suppose they make for better living quarters than the bottom of your inventory.
Scuba Diving Mask: Wear this new cosmetic item once you’ve completed Dave the Diver’s quest. Emphasis on ‘cosmetic’; it doesn’t come with diving privileges, but you get to look cool pretending it does.
Summer Bundle:
Decorate your farm with everything you need to enjoy a sunny day at the beach: Parasols, a Beach Ball, a Surfboard, beach furniture... There’s even a Pool Float shaped like a Luma. This bundle has got it all. Minus the sunburn and sand in uncomfortable places.
Fixes & Changes
Rare chests now have a chance to wash ashore when it... (*checks notes*)... rains? Huh? I’m as confused as you are... Oh, look! A rare chest! Today is my lucky day! Um, what were we talking about?
A sound now plays when skeletons hit you. Did this ever work? Nobody knows. And I honestly couldn’t be bothered to boot up an older version. Let’s go with... ‘maybe’?
A sound now lets you know when another day is about to begin. Because you told us in no uncertain terms that nobody likes it when tomorrow sneaks up on them.
The piers in the Pirate Cove, Jungle Island and the Farm are solid again, so you can no longer cosplay as a ghost and walk straight through them.
The Wheels Of Fortune in the Pirate Cove are now rigged in your favor. Every spin increases your chances of winning the jackpot. Isn’t that... cheating? Yes. Yes, it is. But is it for a good cause? Also yes. Some of you unlucky souls out there desperately needed a win after spending thousands of Pirate Coins on the Wheels Of Fortune. 🥲
