Small fixes to make errors less likely and easier to recover from:

Persist backup save in case save file is corrupted during saving, and attempt to use this if main save file cannot load
Keep corrupted save files for troubleshooting, renamed with '_errored_[date-time]' suffix
Improve resilience of code linking thumbnails to evidence images
