Patch R1.5.14 - Introducing Voice Chat Mode! 📜🎉
Hey Townies! We're very excited to introduce the brand new Voice Chat Mode to Town of Salem 2. Enjoy a custom game mode that has been augmented to use only voice instead of text to communicate. Voice Chat Mode is only available to owners of the Deed to the Town who have Discord available in their region. This patch also contains several bug fixes.

New Voice Chat Mode
Welcome to Voice Chat! This is an exciting new lobby-type that implements voice chat and a ton of core changes to the game. This lobby type is exclusive to owners of the Deed to the Town, and is currently available as a special version of Custom. Please note that it is only available for players who have access to Discord in their region. Voice Chat Mode Features:
Proximity Voice Chat
This is the main way you will be communicating with other players during games
You will be able to hear and speak to any other players inside your Proximity Circle
Proximity Chat is enabled in the Lobby, Discussion and Voting phases
House Locking
You can now enter other player's houses during the Discussion phase to talk privately with them
This feature has been implemented as a replacement for private whispers
You have a button on your hot bar allowing you to lock your house, preventing anyone from entering
Players may still freely leave a locked house, preventing you from trapping anyone
When the Voting phase begins, any players inside a house will be ejected
Last Wills
Last Wills are now automatically typed for you
Only Town faction members will show their Last Will on death
We want VC modes to be fully playable without having to type anything on a keyboard, part of this meant removing the need to type your last will. We have zero plans to bring this over to text mode.
Death Notes
Death Notes have been disabled in VC mode
Phase Length Adjustments
The Discussion Phase is now dynamically paced depending on the number of alive players remaining in the game
15-11 players: 75 seconds
10-6 players: 60 seconds
5-0 players: 45 seconds
The Night Phase duration has been shortened from 38 seconds to 26 seconds as players no longer need to spend time writing a Last Will or looking through previous Chat Logs
Role Balance Changes
Various roles have received changes to work better in VC Mode, these changes are exclusive to the mode and do not affect Text Chat modes.
These changes are detailed below in the "Role Updates" category
We will be paying extremely close attention to feedback regarding voice chat, and have plenty of planned upcoming additions to the mode. We hope everyone enjoys this fresh experience!
Regular Game Updates:
Added Discord Integration
You can now link your TOS2 account to Discord via the settings menu
Linking this will bring your Discord Friends list into your TOS2 friends list
You will be able to invite friends to your TOS2 lobbies through Discord
Your Discord profile will display more information about what you are specifically doing in TOS2
Added 6 new Role Silhouettes:
Spy
Veteran
Coroner
Wildling
Lookout
Enchanter
Added the "No Scrolls" Modifier
This modifier disables Scrolls & The Tome of Fate
This modifier is not available in Anomaly
Enchanted players now have a status effect in the player list
Player Numbers are now displayed on character nametags
The Night + Role Reveal phases now skip the intro of the music if the phase is shortened to ensure the ending plays at the right time
Added a new Summer Splash Art, this will show on the login screen from the 1st of June to the 31st of August
The Attributes Icon will be replaced with the Necronomicon Icon if you are holding it
The Necronomicon Tab has been removed from the rolecard
Added an Achievements Tab to the rolecard
The Quality Slider in settings now applies Anti-Aliasing, the strength of it scales from 1-5 based on the quality you choose
Win Cinematics now include players who won separately, such as the Pirate
Ranked mode has been temporarily disabled, it will be re-enabled in a future update alongside some improvements to the mode
Various roles have received balance changes that apply *exclusively* to voice chat modes:
Jester
Chatterbox has been replaced with a Shufflebox
The Jester must now walk 20-30 silly steps (important distinction from regular steps) each day, or they will die of boredom
Wildling
Wildling can no longer spy on whispers, as they do not exist
Wildling has a new day ability named "Attune"
Attune allows the Wildling to listen to a player at full volume regardless of their distance, and regardless of them being in a house
Jailor
Jailor can hear their prisoner, but cannot speak back to them.
We are planning to either add a voice filter for the Jailor, a list of questions the Jailor can send in chat, or another solution in a future update. We are actively seeking feedback on this
Enchanter & Illusionist
Enchanter can no longer Alterate other players due to Auto Wills
Illusionist can no longer Disguise as another role due to Auto Wills
We are actively looking for an appropriate replacement/solution for this in the future
Voodoo Master
Silence mutes a player during the day preventing them from talking. The "..." message on trial will no longer be sent
The purpose of "..." was to show that the silenced player is not afk, due to free roam being enabled a silenced player can now run around to prove they are not afk
Deafen prevents a player from hearing others during the day, they will still be able to talk freely
Fixed overcharged Oracle, Admirer, Monarch, and Arsonist not working
Fixed the Necronomicon holder being retrained causing book to be passed to someone else
Fixed Illusionist and Coven Veteran killing themselves after using their special ability and then cancelling
Fixed Medusa Stone Gaze Charges being reset upon a Cursed Soul swap
Fixed Town Traitor not being able to vote to pass Necronomicon
Fixed stoned/forged players' showing their default faction of their real role to Coven
Fixed Illusionist with book targeting messages not working properly
Fixed Socialite's Guest List, Arsonist's Douses, and Werewolf's scent tracking not notifying their teammates in an informed faction
Fixed Baker player effect showing to everyone when the Baker is a non-informed faction member
Fixed Illusionist's disguise message not being affected by spam filter
Fixed Cultist targeting their previous Indoctrinate target with book if they do nothing at night after converting
Fixed Jinx message showing %name2% on Jinx's target
Fixed being un-silenced during Judgment phase in the case of changing roles when you're silenced
Fixed Soul Collector with Necronomicon not knowing they hit defense
