Patch 3.3.5 and Dinocon Event

Primal Carnage: Extinction · Community Announcements · July 24, 2026

Although we have a small-ish game update for PCE on PC today, we're most excited to share our little collaboration with DinoCon this year!

Read on for the details, or scroll down to the bottom for a summary of today's patch...

DinoCon 2026 & Primal Carnage

Wait, what's a Dinocon?

Hosted in the UK and run by leading palaeontologists, DinoCon is an awesome convention that started just last year, celebrating all things prehistoric (though mostly dinos). From scientific talks on the history of dinosaur research and cutting edge discoveries, to behind the scenes panels about paleo media, it’s simply a wonderful weekend.

We handed out over 200 free game codes at the first DinoCon, and we’ll of course have a bucket of freebies for anyone who hasn’t yet jumped into the Carnage this year as well! If you’re attending, check DinoCon’s own merch table at the vendor hall entrance. We’ll have a little under 300 free game codes to give out between PCE on PC and Primal Carnage: Evolution on PlayStation.

However, we wanted to do something a bit more special this time. Inspired by the DinoCon mascots that were lovingly illustrated by “Frip’s Frocks” for DinoCon 2026, we created a handful of bold and beautiful skins to celebrate the occasion!

These are available as free items as of Version 1.57 on PlayStation and patch 3.3.5 on Steam:

Simply enter the code below on the in-game store to claim your freebies...

DINOCON-2026

The code above does not have an expiry date, but is limited to one use per account. Although the new Sandbox mode is not officially added to PCE on PC yet, you can still redeem all of the items for later.

To keep up with all of the new items being added to Extinction / Evolution, including new free codes that we've started releasing recently, check out our Trello page.

CELEBRATORY STEAM SALE

Discounts 66 million years in the making...

In honour of DinoCon surviving to its second year, we're running a limited time Steam sale that has discounts of 66% 0FF Primal Carnage: Extinction AND 50% off all DLC packs on the Steam store (including the handy PCE 4-pack!).

We're also offering discounts on the official soundtrack collection, and if you've got a VR headset even Primal Carnage: Onslaught is 90% off if you're feeling curious.

Sale starts from 12 midday (UK time) and ends noon on Monday July 27th, grab those deals before they go extinct!

NEW MAP STAMP

Choo choo!

This is nothing to do with DinoCon, we just thought it was neat.

If you've been enjoying the new Railyard map, show some love to the community map maker who created it by purchasing its map stamp. Map stamps are a way to say thankyou to some of the most dedicated modders in the Primal community, rewarding them with almost triple the usual Workshop royalty for each stamp purchased.

For buying the Railyard Map Stamp, you will be granted the Conductor's Cap for your generosity...

OPEN TESTING IMMINENT

Soon. Very soon.

After spending a couple of weeks resolving the recent server problems, we're switching our focus back to adding brand new features for PCE on PC. If you own Extinction, you should already have access to the PCE Open Testing Beta app in your library. You can use this to try out the newest content coming to Extinction before it hits the main game.

We will be deploying major new features to OT over the next few weeks, starting with the big one - brand new bonus playables for Freeroam (soon to be known as Sandbox mode). We'd hoped to get them into OT today, but with DinoCon happening there wasn't quite time. You can expect to be playing Iguanodon, Stego, Para, Compy and Brachi on PC within the next few days.

Alongside these are several other new features that are in various states of completion, such as dino drinking to restore stamina, the in-game Announcer and Skillshot bonuses. We'll be fine tuning and fixing these as we head into August alongside some fairly large HUD and menu updates.

Minor Patch 3.3.5

CHANGE LOG:

UP NEXT

Of course MELTDOWN PART 2 will be coming soon! Featuring a seriously HOT collection of new looks, we're expecting that to arrive at the end of July.

For those of you interested in skin design or map making, there will finally be a new update to the public SDK toolset (Extinction Editor) for the first time in years.

We're preparing to start closed testing with a few select community members currently to make sure the SDK is stable and in good shape before it goes out to everyone. It shouldn't be long now before you have access to all of the latest assets to work with, in what we hope is a much more stable editor.

Looking ahead though, it’s MELTDOWN PART 3 that has the really juicy stuff. You can look forward to the new Dual Repeaters weapon for Trapper debuting with the final act of our annual summer sensation!

Not only that, but all of the new features currently in Open Testing will go live with Meltdown Part 3, as a free Evolved Edition overhaul. We're targeting mid to late August for the grand finale, wish us luck...

Thanks for Playing!
