Minor bug fix - Involuntary movement bug finally fixed
Read the original on Steam ↗This bug was extremely difficult to catch because I was never able to reproduce it on my own. When a player commented about it recently, I decided to take another look since it had been a while. Heartworm uses Unity's new Input System, and I saw that we had set as composite bindings in the Move and Turn actions. After looking into it, I found that it's unlikely was actually ever used for any real input, and more than likely was picking up any HID device or driver - including virtual devices registered via driver software (audio, rgb, macros, etc.). Unity was likely guessing an axis center for these devices, normalizing it, and the result was the character moving seemingly on its own.
Again, due to the nature of this bug and my inability to reproduce it, I can't personally confirm the fix, but the player who reported it most recently confirmed the fix worked for them on a test branch, so I am pushing it live. If for some reason you run into this issue after updating, please let me know.
Thanks,
Vincent
