Long overdue bug fixes and performance improvements!
16 bug / crash fixes
Fixed several late game performance hogs - not quite memory leaks, but similar type of problem
Big performance improvements when the number of enemies on screen gets near the limit
Fixed uncompressed images being stored in VRAM - was probably causing severe stutter for machines that had limited VRAM
Drastic reduction in game startup load time
Upcoming changes
I was messing around with converting the game to a shooter - of course I'm not going to just drop that in an update and delete the original gameplay. But it feels great to fire your weapons, and use jump/dash/melee on a button press instead of waiting for enemies to trigger it.
Most likely outcome is I add it as a separate mode at some point in the near future. Requires a lot of adjustments to weapons and a few upgrades to work well. Thanks again to everyone who gave the game a shot!
