NEW HAZARD - SENSOR BEACONS
The Reach is well known for being a treasure-trove of space and temporal flotsam and jetsam.
The latest sightings on the space tide are…Sensor Beacons.
Sensor Beacons have been added as a Reach Hazard
Find and activate one on the map to receive sensor information around it.
Ships flying into the beacon’s coverage area will be visible on your radar.
Players from other crews can re-activate an owned beacon to steal control of it from the original user.
NEW HARDPOINT - SUPPORT BEACON (Treasure Hunt)
“The beacons are lit! The Mighty Cheese calls for aid!” - Mophs, whilst reloading his Surefire.
Support Beacons have been added to Treasure Hunt.
Spawns on every ship in Treasure Hunt near the ship’s processor.
Reveals your ship to all allies on the map when active.
Remains active until you toggle it off.
1ST ANNIVERSARY REWARDS
We’re pretty sure it was only July 2025 yesterday! A year has nearly flown by in the Reach and Wildgate - we’ll be celebrating with you as July 22 comes around, but to get the party started early, two sprays and a ship title, Persistent Prospector, will be waiting in game for you!
You’ve already met ‘Not Dead Yet’ in our patch preview - here’s the second, which by near-universal agreement, is known as spray_bestmophs.png. That’s just the sort of energy he exudes.
GAME MODE UPDATES
Treasure Hunt
Added the “Stowaway Bonus”.
A “stowaway“ is any surviving player on an eliminated team that manages to board another teams ship and extract with them.
If your team encounters a survivor and extracts through a Wildgate with them, both parties will receive a bonus.
If your ship is alive and carrying stowaways, your team will be rewarded with extra loot value equal to 50% of each team's pre-elimination loot score that you've rescued stowaways for.
If you are a stowaway, you individually earn 50% of the loot score of the team you are escaping with, but none of your own teams loot score.
Consider helping defeated crews by inviting them aboard after their ship is destroyed!
Custom Games
Added a custom lobby option for Fleet Battle to disable artifact spawns.
Added the option to choose your reach hazards in custom lobbies.
BALANCE CHANGES
DEV NOTES - Some of the "stat-up" prospector perks have felt like "must-run" options, so we’re trying a few changes to offer some variety. Mophs and Ion have been given some extra power, since their crucial perks have been replaced with more niche playstyle changes.
The Beam Rifle and Hand Cannon have received some slight tuning adjustments. The Rocket Launcher buff from the previous patch has been reverted based on community feedback.
The Sidelong is getting some slight adjustments to its clip and fire rate to make it feel better, and the bonus vs AI damage will hopefully move it into a more useful spot for clearing POIs and PVE.
The Surefire has been a controversial weapon both in terms of its power but also in the potential strain it can put on players due to its semi-auto trigger and high potential fire rate. So it's a burst weapon now. The power level should be similar, but your hands won't hurt as badly!
Prospectors
Mophs
Increased flight speed bonus from 30%→ 40
Ion
Increased melee damage to hardpoints and ship weapons by 50%
Weapons
Beam Rifle
Time between shots increased from 0.4 → 0.5 seconds
Sidelong
Time between shots decreased from 0.4 → 0.35 seconds
Clip size increased from 12 → 14
+50% damage to AI
Hand Cannon
Damage reduced from 60 → 50
Surefire
Now a semi-burst weapon with a rapid 2 round burst (burst time 0.3 seconds)
Clip reduced from 15 -> 14 shots
Damage increased from 20 → 22
Reload Time reduced from 1.4 -> 1.3 seconds
Rocket Launcher
Removed +50% bonus damage to AI
PERKS
Perks now appear in the loadout UI in a set order, grouped by type.
The following perks have been adjusted with new effects replacing the old ones.
Pilot:
Renamed to “PROTECTED PILOT“
New: While on the helm, your prospector takes 30% reduced damage and is immune to environmental damage.
Charlie Teleport:
Renamed to “RECHARGING RIFT \[CHARLIE]“
New: Charlie's teleport ability loses 30m of range, but fully replenishes weapon ammo for Charlie and the target.
Venture Explorer:
Renamed to “ENERGIZED EXPLORER \[VENTURE]“
New: Venture disables Cameron, but becomes energized while exploring a point of interest. While energized, Venture's movement and actions are significantly faster.
Adrian Jetpack:
Renamed to “DERBY JETPACK \[ADRIAN]“
New: Adrian equips his Derby Jetpack, which has 30% less fuel but provides a burst of thrust upon activation and a higher maximum speed. Derby Jetpack also refills fuel upon teleporting home.
Mophs Wings:
Renamed to “GHOST \[MOPHS]”
New: Mophs' Camouflage only lasts 4 seconds, but the duration is paused while Mophs is standing still. Also grants +10% movement speed.
Sammo Defender
Renamed to “ANOTHER! \[Sammo]“
New: Sammo only restores 40% health after blasting a prospector on his own ship, but also fully replenishes weapon ammo.
Ion Smash:
Renamed to “COSMIC FISTS \[ION]“
New: Ion deals 33% less melee damage to hardpoints and weapons. Blasting enemies with a melee attack now causes them to explode.
Sal Inventor:
Renamed to “MODDED MULTITOOL \[SAL]“
New: Sal's Repair Beam repairs 20% slower, but bounces twice.
Fixed inconsistency bugs around this perk being added/removed during gameplay.
Kae Teleport:
Renamed to “RECURSIVE TELEPORT \[KAE]“.
Reduced number of bonus charges from +2 -> +1
BUG FIXES AND MISCELLANEOUS
Reduced time of the login step that populated Missions data (less time logging in).
Increased the impact force of the Wildgate opening by 50% and impact radius by 20%.
You can once again use the turrets on the enemy legion ship in the Firing Range.
Fixed italic slant on loadout item text.
Fixed matchmaker state machine bugs that would leave you in purgatory.
Fixed being able to stack the effects of certain perks. Fixed your own ship’s map icon occasionally disappearing from the map in Fleet Battle.
Fixed a bug with Quantum Probe Sensor that would mark defeated ships on the map as with incorrect information.
Fixed a bug where Kae’s Recursive Teleport VFX preview showed the unmodified teleport distance.
Fixed a bug where you could occasionally join a private custom lobby if you joined early enough after lobby creation.
UI AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS
Bomb Traps now display a UI indicator to nearby players indicating their position and fuse time.
Changed default value for the “Enemy Team Color” setting to “Per-Team”.
You can once again view the Player Cards of other players in the Crew Hub.
The timer for Mophs cloak now also displays a progress bar indicating remaining stealth time. Also some fixes to the display for this timer.
Boarding a ship that isn’t yours in Fleet Battle now labels it as “ENEMY SHIP” or “ALLY SHIP” in the location splash.
In Artifact Brawl, the end-of-match placement ranking screen is now always displayed instead of just for custom lobby spectators.
Custom Lobbies
The list of custom lobbies now refreshes more often.
You can now view player cards of other players in the custom lobby.
Custom lobby spectators can now see the status of Smugglers Turn next to the ships resources.
