A Forced Delay
Hi. This is the author of The Coffin of Andy and Leyley. Today's progress update is quite heavy...
The development is paused due to legal matters.
Unfortunately, juggling creation and protection of my work simultaneously gets increasingly complicated as the amount of bad actors in the fandom grows.
We will encourage fan-content by creating guidelines on using our IP, but it will also mean that our lawyers will enforce more carefully against bad actors who go outside of the permitted boundaries. The guidelines will be published once ready.
I'm sorry for the delay and that this isn't the release date announcement that was promised. We can't afford to not address this situation, as these activities are getting more and more brazen and openly hostile.
To my audience, who have done none of this, and who I know to be the overwhelming majority of the people reading this: Thank you!
By supporting official releases instead of bootlegs and unauthorized publishing of our games, you make it possible for people like me to continue creating and sharing original work. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Once I'm clear of this, I'll continue doing my best for you!
Again, I'm sorry about the delay. For some consolation, I can confirm that the update was going to be Burial. Its development has gone smoothly and without issues, barring the outside forces.
Game Jam Thoughts
On a more positive note, I've been mulling over the possibility of community events. Maybe it would be a good time to test the waters in the meanwhile.
Would there be any interest in a Coffin of Andy and Leyley inspired game jam?
Not for fan games, but for all-new original works in the mood / theme / walk'n'talk / aesthetic / whatever of the game. "Coffin-likes", is the best word I can come up with, self-aggrandizing as it is.
Winners could get some cash and clout, and ideally we'd all get some new games to play. Coffin itself started as a jam entry.
Nothing has been arranged yet, as I'm not sure there's any interest. But if there is, our company could sponsor such an event. There has been some discussion with community members who are willing to manage something like this.
So. Would you be interested in playing "Coffin-likes" or participating yourself?
Let me know what you think [HERE], and we'll see if there's something here.
Well, anyway. Here's some teasers.
