Steam Workshop
This month finally brings the Steam Workshop to the game. You can now upload your planes for others to try, and browse what other people have made. I’m hoping that being able to share your creations can help grow a more creative, community driven side of the game.
Uploading is quite simple, you click the “Save” button, fill in a name, description and tag, and hit upload. To use other people’s designs, subscribe to them on the Steam Workshop. The load panel now has a new “Workshop” tab. You don’t have to restart the game to load planes.
I’ve decided to keep the workshop focused on sharing plane designs. I know I’ve mentioned adding custom parts in the past, but keeping the focus narrow ensures the workshop remains relatively easy for me to support. As a solo dev, I unfortunately don’t have the resources to maintain an ecosystem for complex mods.

The roadmap
As I mentioned at the start, the roadmap I put together a few months ago is proving a bit too ambitious. I’d planned a lot more for this update, including endless mode, and I’ve spent a fair amount of time on it. But procedurally generating missions that are both interesting and balanced is turning out to be much harder than I expected.
Because of that, I probably won’t make the August release window either. I’ll rethink the plan and may update the roadmap in a future post.
