FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR supports a wide range of steering wheels for VR racing games, with ongoing updates as new hardware is tested and added.

Which steering wheels are supported?

Most Logitech and Thrustmaster wheels are supported for this VR racing game with wheel support. Please see below for specific details.

Wheel Trouble Shooting

[p align="start"]My Wheel Doesn’t Work — What Should I Do?

[p align="start"]If your wheel is not working, it may not currently be supported by the game. However, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try first.

[p align="start"]1. Disconnect Other Controllers

[p align="start"]Other connected controllers or peripherals can sometimes interfere with your wheel inputs.

[p align="start"]To check this:

Open Windows Game Controllers
Check which devices are currently being recognized
Disconnect any unnecessary controllers or peripherals

[p align="start"]2. Manually Bind Your Wheel Controls

[p align="start"]You may need to manually assign your wheel buttons and pedals in-game.

[p align="start"]To do this:

[p align="start"]1. Open Options

[p align="start"]2. Go to the Controls tab

[p align="start"]3. Select the action you want to bind (for example, Nitro)

[p align="start"]4. Press the button or pedal you want to assign

[p align="start"]If the game detects the input, it will automatically bind that control to the selected action.

[p align="start"]3. Wheel Inputs Are Not Detected

[p align="start"]If your wheel, pedals, or buttons do not register any input, the device may not currently be recognized by the game.

[p align="start"]While we are working to support as many wheel and pedal setups as possible, not all devices are currently supported. To help us improve compatibility, please generate and send us a wheel diagnostics log.

[p align="start"]How to Generate a Wheel Diagnostics Log

[p align="start"]1. Start the game with your wheel and pedals connected

[p align="start"]2. Try using the wheel in-game:

[p align="start"]Navigate menus

[p align="start"]Drive in a race

[p align="start"]Press buttons and pedals

[p align="start"]3. Open Options

[p align="start"]4. Under the Control Settings tab, select Export Wheel Diagnostics

[p align="start"]5. Navigate to the following folder on your PC:

[p align="start"]C:\\Users\\*YourUsername*\\AppData\\Local\\FlatOut4

[p align="start"]6. Locate the file named Wheel Diagnostics

[p align="start"]7. Rename the file to match the name of your wheel or pedal set

[p align="start"]8. Send the renamed file to us for investigation

[p align="start"]What If I Can Bind Buttons but the Wheel Doesn’t Work During a Race?

[p align="start"]This is usually caused by VR Motion Steering being enabled.

[p align="start"]To disable it:

[p align="start"]1. Open Options

[p align="start"]2. Go to the Control Settings tab

[p align="start"]3. Ensure that VR Motion Steering is turned Off

[p align="start"]Once disabled, test the wheel again in a race.

Wheel support is still in active development during Early Access. Players can submit wheel diagnostics in #fo-support on Discord for unsupported setups.
