It's the first update of 2026 (quite late, I know), and there's a lot of new content and changes to show! There have been some significant improvements made to Apocalypse, the Toybox & Shop's debut, the Refurbished map's new make-over, a gamemode tidy-up and much, much more!

The New Toybox & Goofy Shop!

It's the time where Bananas finally have their moment to shine! The Toybox & Shop makes their debut in this update, allowing players to use their hard-earned Bananas to purchase recolours for their weapons!

This update introduces the first batch of cosmetics for all weapons (excluding the Magic Wand), featuring mainly some basic recolouring, all for a fairly affordable amount of Bananas!

In the Apocalypse: Part 1 update, players could earn Bananas and many other items from playing Apocalypse, the newest gamemode. These items didn't have any immediate value, but now you can sell Apocalypse items in The Goofy Shop for Bananas.

That's not all! Players can earn Bananas from playing all gamemodes, so you can still work your way towards some new weapon cosmetics! If earning Bananas in the most efficient way is what you want to do, then playing Apocalypse is the way to go. Apocalypse Just Got More Chaotic!

So, you thought zombies with Squeaky Hammers running mindlessly at the survivors wasn't enough? The zombies thought so too!

They have constructed an army of special zombies that have their own ways to complete one mission: eliminate the survivors! Below are the enlisted special zombies.

The Biohazard Zombie: They first appeared in the initial Apocalypse update, but now they are slightly more dangerous - however, they are now wearing an appropriate outfit so you'll know when they're coming! If you see a zombie in a bright hazmat suit and a peg covering its nose, be prepared to move away from the incoming stink bomb...

The Thief: Despite not being a physical threat to the survivors and are always seen with a briefcase, these zombies have been tasked to steal the survivor's cash instead! They will seek a survivor who has a comfortable amount of cash, and if they get close enough, they will steal all of their money and run away! Just to make matters worse, the affected survivor will not be able to earn any more cash until the Thief is taken out, so tracking down the Thief should be the whole team's priority.

The Bully: And then there is the leader of the pack: The Bully. You really, *really* don't want to get in the way of The Bully. He deals massive damage from just one punch, so any mistake could cause some serious trouble for the survivors. Fortunately, he takes his time since he trusts the other zombies to get the job done. He does, however, *really* dislike being hit with stink bombs - it enrages him and will cause him to charge towards players, start throwing haymakers and won't stop until he is taken out! Taking out the enraged Bully will also guarantee an item drop and an increased chance of receiving a rarer item. The Banana Sacrifice... In the first Apocalypse update, players could earn Bananas and many other items from playing Apocalypse. These items didn't have any immediate value, but now you can sell Apocalypse items in The Goofy Shop for Bananas. Bananas can also be sacrificed to start a new game of Apocalypse at a higher initial round, so you won't need to start from the early rounds every time you play. The higher the initial round, the more Bananas that'll need to be sacrificed at an exponential rate. Each player will be given extra cash to help them get prepared, but the higher the starting round, the more challenging it will be to be prepared. Refurbished Just Got... Re-Refurbished? It's about time that an in-door jungle gym actually looks like a jungle. It has been requested many times since Goofy's release to introduce themed maps. The Complex and Original maps were always going to stick to their respective colour schemes, but the Refurbished map's colour scheme struggled to mix properly, so it was due a real make-over! This make-over was focusing purely on the new aesthetic of the map to coincide with the new ambient lighting improvements (more info about this later in this post), so there are still improvements to be made in terms of new interactable obstacles and details within all maps. So, why not just make a new map with a jungle theme instead? Besides the fact that I wanted to improve an outdated map, there are 2 new maps planned for an upcoming update, with one of those maps being a much requested idea, so it felt more fitting to have a more polished collection of maps once they're all playable in the near future! Overall Map & Lighting Improvements! It has been a while since there have been any significant visual improvements to Goofy, but with the Refurbished map's make-over, it was clear that the lighting needed to be updated to accommodate a drastic change in colour schemes. Before this update, every map used the same ambient lighting - which was great, assuming the maps share a similar colour scheme. Since the Refurbished map's make-over uses totally different colours, the map didn't look good at all. By swapping out the pink/purple colours with more neutral colours, the map not only fit within the environment properly, but now also looks more realistic, reviving some of the missing 'liminal space' vibes. The Complex and Original maps have also seen some improvements, but since their colour schemes were already accommodated to the old system, there isn't much of a change in terms of lighting. However, every map now has a different floor style in the open area so that each map can be slightly more unique. While these improvements are aimed at making the game more visually appealing, it may also cause unexpected visibility issues during gameplay, so these improvements are always subject to further change. Low Light Mode! Remember the After Hours modes for Tag and Infector? That's now a thing of the past, and a new toggle has been added for most gamemodes that allows for most lights to be switched off and for glowsticks to be attached to each player's belts. So, what about the After Hours modes? Well, they're gone. Poof! There is one exception, however... Infector: After Hours is still its own mode, but has been renamed to Blackout. Infector has also been renamed to Hide & Seek. It no longer shares its name with Blackout to reflect their differences in gameplay. But wait, there's more!
