(Patchnotes have been translated using AI) Rare cards in Insider Trading were deceptive.

Unlike what their tag suggested, they weren't that rare to find. And because they were so common, they ended up being under-balanced. Consequently, rare cards became neither rare nor particularly good. This was counter-intuitive and strained the balancing of certain cards that could have been much more exciting.

The 1.3 update tackles this by making rare cards feel actually rare and rewarding to pick up, featuring stronger effects than before.

Several rare cards have been buffed, 18 new rare cards have been added, and the mechanics around finding rare cards have been adjusted.

Rarity Chances

Psychedelic, a pill that spawns rare cards when used during card selection, was the main reason rare cards felt less rare.

With this pill spawning fairly frequently, the actual spawn rate of rare cards was quite irrelevant.

Therefore, Psychedelic has been adjusted to be a rare pill itself, sitting alongside the Poison Pill and Ice.

As this powerful tool for spawning rare cards has been adjusted, the natural spawn rate of rare cards has been slightly increased.

- Psychedelic is now a rare pill.

- Increased natural spawn rate of rare cards

- Increased natural spawn rate of uncommon cards

- Increased natural spawn rate of rare pills

Balancing

With the above changes, rare cards gained the potential to be stronger without harming the overall balance too much.

Rare cards that were already functioning well were left as they were, while many that were underperforming, or were too obscure to use, have been buffed or reworked.

- Bull Statue: Now turns adjacent cards into numbered Bull cards (BULL: 0 ~ BULL: X), instead of turning them into random bull-type cards.

- Bear Statue: Now turns adjacent cards into numbered Bear cards (BEAR: 0 ~ BEAR: X), instead of turning them into random bear-type cards.

- Whale: Now doubles its effect permanently when a condition is met, instead of doubling itself temporarily for only the day.

- Devolution: Now transforms non-monkey cards into CHAMP cards only, instead of transforming them into random monkey-type cards.

- Loot Box: Now always adds a stack to an owned non-cursed perk, instead of having a different effect every time it's drawn.

- Taxidermy: Now no longer removes all tokens when being deleted.

- Level Up: Now gives a permanent +1 trigger count to ALL cards in the queue, instead of giving it to one random card in the queue.

- Mirror: Now transforms ALL cards in the queue to the card on its right, instead of only transforming itself.

- Off-Label: Now gives up to +5 random pills instead of +3.

- The Cup: Now modifies price by +7% instead of +5%.

- Revolving Door: Now modifies price by -7% instead of -5%.

- Fanatics: Now starts with +2% instead of +1%.

New Rares

The game could use a couple more cards. Now, as we are adjusting rarity chances, is a good time to get them going.

All types except Bull, Bear, and Glitch received +2 new rare cards: one green and one red.

Now, BELOW ARE SPOILERS FOR WHICH CARDS HAVE BEEN ADDED.

Skip ahead if you wish to discover the additions for yourself while playing.

- Banker (Green Investor): Gain +1 token. If the price is under $100, gain an extra +1 token. If the price is under $10, gain an extra +1 token. If the price is under $1, gain an extra +1 token. If the price is under $0.1, gain an extra +1 token.

- The Reaper (Red Investor): If the price is over $10, set the price to $10. Then, lose all tokens.

- Alpha (Green System): If queued in slot 1, +1% price and gain +1 token. Then, increase the target slot number by +1, effect by +1%, and token bonus by +1.

- Singularity (Red System): If all cards in the queue are system types, delete all other cards in the queue. Then, add two stacks to a random non-cursed perk.

- The Kong (Green Monkey): Price +1%. If there is no Null card in the queue, delete all cards in the queue and permanently double this card's effect.

- Wukong (Red Monkey): Add five copies of the card to the right to the deck. Then, delete itself.

- Icarus (Green Bird): +10% price. Lose all tokens. This card's effect is doubled for every 50 tokens it consumes.

- Phoenix (Red Bird): If holding less than 10 tokens, gain +100 tokens and delete this card.

- Third Wheel (Green Junk): +1 card queue slot. This card has a 4 in 5 chance to be deleted after triggering.

- Futures (Red Junk): -20% price. This card has a 1 in 2 chance to be deleted after triggering.

- Breakthrough (Green Pharma): Gain a random rare pill. This card is deleted after triggering.

- Peak Season (Red Pharma): Delete all pills and gain +5 tokens for each pill deleted.

- Reformism (Green Ideology): Every 10th time this card is discarded, add a stack to a random non-cursed perk.

- Humanism (Red Ideology): Every time this card is drawn from the deck, +5 tokens.

- Chains (Green Tool): Give +1 trigger count to all non-tool cards on the right.

- Factory (Red Tool): 1 in 2 chance to gain a Stimulant pill after triggering. (Stimulant gives a permanent +2 trigger count to the first card in the queue.)

- Extortion (Green Authority): +0 token(s). Amount increases by +1 for every consecutive day this card has triggered. Effect resets when the streak is broken.

- Martial Law (Red Authority): -15% price. If played for 10+ consecutive days, add a stack to a random non-cursed perk after triggering.

And that's it.
