It’s a new season in Konfronto, and we’re back with sweeping balance changes. It has been the age of the 20-turn win for longer than we’d like, which is great if you’re hoping to get what should have been a very rare Achievement, but not great for the health of the game. We’d like to thank our community, and specifically ABU, for finding the most egregious of the broken builds and beating us over the head with them, but it’s time to get our meta back to a place where every faction is viable. Except maybe Humanitarians, if only for a little while. Nobody likes eating vegetables anyway. It’s time for Mew Republick and Poultron Collective to get a little love. Our favourite space chickens have skirted around the edges of top tier, but never really had their moment in the sun. And Mew Republick, while generally having great individual units, have never really been a faction you focus your build around. We’re going to beef both factions up a bit, and increase Mew Republick units’ ability to take down Shields.

Balance changes

Mew Republick

The Mewlennium Falcon gets a speed boost (it made the kettle run in under 13 purrsecs), Shield destruction gets a little more powerful, and having multiple Mew Republick Cargo items gets more powerful. .

P.R.O.T.E.C.T.

Defensive Cargo items are in a good place, but offense could use a little love. Defensive Crew always feel less exciting, so we’re bumping them up a bit. Nothing crazy happening here though.

New

Dreadshirts

Dread has been a meta for a while, but mostly through Troublings, and some particularly powerful combinations *cough* Spockula with MSS Screamitar *cough*. When Dread dominates, it is usually from a compounding Spockula combo with Troublings and self-damage, and not from the damage from the Dread itself. We are nuking Troublings from orbit, reducing the damage from a few key units, and giving you more ways to generate Dread.

Poultron Collective

No, this isn’t just about helping Leo get some wins in the Friday streams, when he continually forces Poultron regardless of the situation. It’s about being fair to the space chickens. They’ve had to sit by and watch other factions shine, and they are clucking mad about it. We’re making Power Surge easier to generate, and be more impactful when you have it.

Just Fleet

Provisions can’t save you when the game is over before the first repair has even occurred. As we slow the game down this patch, we expect Just Fleet to improve as a matter of course, but even so, we think Just Fleet’s early game could use some love.

Humanitarians

The Peas-Maker has been great forever, but recently too great. No one build should be an automatic win condition, and so we are bring down the value of a devour stack in many cases by quite a lot. This will impact older Carriers still floating around, making them much weaker. It’s possible that for this season, The Peas-Maker will be unplayable, but we could all use a little break from it. At least for one season.

Sisters Of Salvage

This faction is in pretty good shape. Just a few minor adjustments in line with what is happening elsewhere.

Neutrals

Colonial Adder is still just a touch too strong, and there are a few unpopular units we want you to be excited to see when they appear at the Trader. Crystalline Entity gets a nice buff, and Reallocation Vortex gets a significant boost.

Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug that sometimes caused Stoneskin Converter to come to life and attack the enemy Carrier!
