It's been a minute. We know. But we're here with some news we've been dying to share.
We're working on The Artificial Artist: A Read Only Memories Story, a new, free side story set after The Awakening. It follows a ROM artist navigating a world that wants to use them, abuse them, or destroy them, all while trying to do the one thing they care about most: make art.
We're building it in something other than Unity, a new cool, no code visual novel engine called Story Machine, and we're really eager to show you what we've been cooking.
The Artificial Artist is meant to be a bridge to something bigger. We're working on the next full Read Only Memories story, All AI Must Die, and we plan on properly unveiling it later this year. Consider this a taste of what's to come.
Look, we'll be real with you. The journey of Read Only Memories, from a scrappy OUYA game in 2014 to now, has been full of ups and downs. Being a ROM fan, hasn't always been easy, and we know that. But you stuck around, and that means the world to us. The gaming industry has been exceptionally rough lately, and we've had our own share of challenges behind the scenes. But we're working our digital butts off to bring you the next chapter of this series.
We can't wait to show you what's next.
