Howdy Gunslingers, It's been one week since you all first stepped into the cursed streets of Tombwater, and we've been blown away by the response. We've been reading all your feedback and today we're dropping our first major post-launch update.
We’ve squashed some bugs, balanced out a few things on the combat side, and made a few other changes to make your time in Tombwater all the more enjoyable. Patch Notes
Bugfixes
Fixed crash which could occur rarely when using 'homing' spells like Silverbolt and Silverbolt Burst against invisible foes
Increased stability on reading/writing the game's settings file, and added handling for if it becomes unexpectedly corrupted
Dwelver's Bell Charm adjustments - Chime now ignores coins and chests, instead will chime near 'ground' items and hidden walls. Made SFX a little more subtle after complaints about volume.
Barkflesh Heart Charm - fixed issue where it was not properly appearing in journal/campfire menu
Student Badge Charm - no longer applies XP multiplier to collecting your Wraith
Lamplighter boss no longer duplicates if hit by explosives at certain points in his animation
Catalina: no longer appears alive in other locations after killing her on Pilgrim's Trail if you decide to complete areas in an unexpected order
Fixed an exploit where Ghost Seed could be used to summon your Wraith repeatedly to farm XP
Clarified item type for Whiskey Bottle, and fixed a couple UI issues with Drinks Johnson's respec menu
Fixed bug which could occur if you immediately spam spellcasting after possessing a skeleton
Fixed bug which was preventing Aldwythe's Dendritic Key from working correctly until a second Dendritic Key is found
Fixed an issue where rebinding certain controls could lead to unintended UI behavior in the Shop menu
Fixed small gaps in collision which could let you glitch out of bounds in Lower Ward and Hedge Maze
Added missing ambient BGM to caves near Pilgrim's Trail
Removed an inaccessible ladder and gate accidentally left in the central district (sorry sleuths!)
Balancing
Spells
Wraith Spells: Fixed a bug where Wraith-type spells (Wraith Shot, Watchman, Wraith Bond, Fusillade, Bounty) were much stronger than they should be due to scaling off of of both Occult damage, and Gunslinging.
Ghost Caravan Wheel: Ghost Caravan Wheel now does reduced damage on repeat "bounces"
Bosses
Lamplighter: adjusted telegraph timing for fireballs and hitboxes on the flame pillars
Catalina: is now more active during your first encounter and will no longer sit across the pit from you and play Deflect tennis with bullets
Increased HP for several bosses
Explosives
Reduced overall damage scaling for explosives
Reduced Emmaline’s upgrade quantity for Pitch, Occult, and Fire grenades by 1 total (This fix will not retroactively affect existing save files who have already upgraded their grenades, but may in future patches.)
Misc.
Increased stamina cost for Bullwhip
Tweaked damage/madness cost for several spells
Other Changes
Smoothed framerates for map scrolling
Added a # display in the journal for quantity of Flask Shards and Mirror Shards collected
