This update brings a major rework to the Threshold escape system, a new weapon, achievements, voice chat improvements, and important backend changes.
THRESHOLD REWORK
In order to activate the Threshold and escape, players must now find the missing Stabilizers and insert them into their slots. This new system should feel a bit more interactive and dynamic than the old keycard system.
ASSAULT RIFLE
This new weapon packs quite a punch, penetrates monster armor better than the SMG, but is harder to find.
NEW ONLINE SUBSYSTEM AND MICROPHONE SELECTION
You can finally select your microphone input!
This is thanks to a long process of migrating the game to a new online subsystem, overall networking should be smoother as well.
ACHIEVEMENTS
The first batch of 16 achievements has been added. This is another thing that became possible thanks to the new online subsystem.
My favorite is probably MASTER OF DISGUISE, which requires you to win as the Skin Stealer without ever transforming into monster form. I personally challenge you all to pull this off in a big lobby.
