Play with Friends (Join Codes)
Playing Nightingale with friends between platforms just got easier. You can now share a Join Code to invite friends directly into your game. The game will automatically find the host and connect using the best available method.
When hosting, select Join Code from the connection options.
Share the code from the Social tab.
Your friend enters the code and joins instantly.
If a direct connection isn’t possible, traffic will route through Valve’s Steam Datagram Relay, a global private network optimized for gaming. Join Codes also support seamless cross-play between Steam and Epic players.
Gameplay Updates
We also have a host of new gameplay and balance updates! This update adds visible wear and damage to tools and clothing based on durability, improves map completion clarity and Essence Trader item presentation, and delivers major reward and balance tuning. Vault Essence rewards are doubled, and chest loot is reworked (fewer perishables, more seeds, and realm-specific item targeting with stronger Ascended rewards). Combat tuning adjusts critical damage scaling and caps, and a broad pass boosts many characteristics to make rare resources more exciting. Augments also get wording cleanup, Danu’s Cauldron returns, and several augment types now apply more consistently across their related refinement stations.

Durability percent determines level of Damage, Dirt, and Wear
Updated Map screen to reflect when you’ve completed an encounter
Updated Essence Traders to reflect the characteristic of the Items offered
“Crit Stab” Nerf: Backstabbing and hitting a critical hit no longer double stack crit multiplier but now just doubles damage.
Doubled Essence rewards in Vaults
Modified All Chest rewards
Perishable items are no longer available in chests
Cured meats and Wasna still appear but most others will not.
Most raw food items like pumpkin, tomatoes, and mushrooms are now found as seeds.
Chest Items found in storied realms will generally reflect available items but with some rarer rewards
Chest items in Untamed Realms will offer more powerful items and charms.
Ascended Realm chests now offer rare T5 crafting materials with a bias based on which realm you’re in.

Astrolabe - Stones, Ingots, Gems
Provisioner - Higher yield from the effects of the card with even drop chances for all items
Herbarium - Fibres and Automaton parts
Gloom - Bound Items
Hunt - Fabled Hides and Meat
Renamed “Grendel” Characteristic to “Grendel Brute”
Removed Gem powder crafting requirement.
Modified Critical Damage to scale slower but have a Higher Cap
Reduced Crit scaling by 25%
Increased Soft Cap from 60% > 80%
Increased Hard Cap from 75% > 95%
With the reduction of “Crit stab” this allows crit builds more room to grow.
Characteristic Changes to increase value for underperforming characteristics and increase excitement for acquiring these rare resources.
