It's time for an Undead Apocalypse.
General Warstarter won the G.A.P. drastically, and somehow that made things worse. The undead are unionized, well-equipped, and disturbingly motivated. Coffins are stocked. Barracks are expanding. The frontlines are no longer theoretical. Lets get to the point. This update brings you 6 new enemies, 20+ new rooms, 4 new weapons and 3 new seals.
Changelog
Barrelkid now drops loot when it dies.
Barrelkid instantly explodes when shot by a firework.
Auto dragon launcher now has random colored fireworks.
Mortal Conflict now does 30 damage. (Was 20.)
Decor that drops bricks now only take one hit to break.
Minibosses always drop a medium ammo pickup on death.
Checking the leaderboard from the main menu now changes the scoreboard based on your gameplay settings.
Added a quick fix where if you managed get out of the GRUEL dungeon it teleports you back inside.
Added a stats page in the journal. (Newly tracked stats will be starting from zero sadly.)
Amoeb enemies now have a special attack. They don't damage every jump anymore.
Unique music and ambience per location has been added. (This also adjusted the sound volume.)
Created the undead event, undead levels are guaranteed to spawn on level 3 every run in this period of time. (Ends in febuary.)
Postmortem
This update was an absolute blast to work on, and we hope you have just as much fun playing it. We’ve run into some challenges keeping up with frequent updates. It’s not always easy, especially while we’re also working on new games for you to enjoy beyond GRUEL.
That said, we’re not going anywhere. We’re definitely not giving up on this game. To make sure we can keep improving it consistently, we’re shifting toward smaller-scope updates that still bring meaningful and exciting content.
