🎮~ Tough Decision
Hi everyone!
First, I want to clarify that Tomomon will continue to receive updates. I have to admit, it is very tempting to start working on Tomomon 2 right now, I have so many new ideas regarding mechanics and story that I want to explore.
However, I have to plan this carefully. I feel that Tomomon 1 has not yet reached the quality I originally envisioned. If I move on to a sequel now, I would feel like I was abandoning the potential of the first game.
🏠 Refining the Foundation
My goal is to use the current updates not just to fix bugs, but to perfect the core formula. Every improvement I make to the UI, the battle system, or the creature animations in Tomomon 1 is essentially a lesson learned for Tomomon 2. I want to ensure that when I eventually do start the sequel, it is built on a legacy of trust and quality. Not only that, I want to apply the improvement that I plan for Tomomon 2 into the Tomomon 1 to make it even better.
🎢 The Road Ahead
So, for now, the focus remains here. I want to polish the existing world, smooth out the rough edges, and deliver the experience I promised. Once Tomomon 1 shines the way it was meant to, only then will I feel comfortable turning the page to the next chapter.
🙈 The Tough Choice, Fighting the Steam Metric Algorithm
From a business perspective, the logical choice would be to focus entirely on Tomomon 2. This would help me find investors quickly and keep the studio alive. Besides, Tomomon 1 isn't generating enough traffic or income to support myself and Phuc (the Animation Artist) right now, so it is a really difficult choice. I hope everyone understands.
However, I have decided to keep updating Tomomon 1 because I want it to reach the quality I originally envisioned. That said, I will also slowly start working on the early phases of Tomomon 2 at the same time, just to ensure we have a financial safety net.
It’s a balancing act, but one we are willing to take to ensure the studio survives without compromising on quality. Thank you for your patience, your feedback, and for believing in Tomomon.
