Happy Holidays, Commanders!
Over the past two weeks, some of you may have experienced issues connecting to the game servers. This happened because we were preparing for the launch of our new project and migrating our company infrastructure to new servers. During this process, we also took the opportunity to update The Art of War: Card Game.
Since the servers were already being upgraded, we decided to make this a small New Year gift for our players and release Update 1.5, bringing several long-awaited improvements.
What’s new in Update 1.5
Card effects have been adjusted to better match the tabletop version of the game
Fixed a long-standing and very frustrating bug that caused undeserved technical defeats
Updated the user interface, removed the in-game roadmap, improved overall stability and security
And that’s not all!
Android is back
For a long time, the game was unavailable on Android. We’re happy to say that the game has now been updated to meet the latest Google requirements and libraries — and The Art of War is once again available on Google Play.
As for iOS and macOS (App Store): new builds have already been submitted for review. We expect them to be approved shortly after the New Year.
An important announcement about the future
We want to be honest with you.
Update 1.5 will be the final major version of the game. Only critical bug-fix updates may be released in the future if necessary. Starting next year, we will gradually wind down the game’s presence on official company pages and social media as we prepare for the launch of our next project.
Some company-related pages have already been removed from the game, leaving only direct links to the game’s creator.
However, this is not just an ending — it’s also a new beginning.
Passing the torch
Over time, a small but passionate community has formed around The Art of War. Some of you we’ve met not only online, but also while playing the tabletop version. Several community members expressed a strong desire to evolve the game into a deeper, more complex collectible experience.
While we cannot continue that development ourselves, we truly admire this enthusiasm.
That’s why we’ve decided to transfer the full intellectual property of the game to a team of community enthusiasts, who will take over its future development. We sincerely wish them the best of luck and will provide any reasonable assistance we can.
Brightdawn Entertainment will continue to support the game servers as long as players remain active, or until a new version of the game is released by the new team.
