🎮 A New Chapter Begins
Hey everyone!
We’re excited to announce that we’re working on a free DLC for Extra Coin! This expansion will extend the game with a new game mode, refined mechanics, and lots of improvements!
To celebrate this announcement, we’re kicking things off with the public playtest.

This playtest focuses exclusively on the duel rework and the 1v1 Mode — the perfect place to test the updated balance, smarter AI, and the redefined champions.
⚠️ The Story Mode is temporarily unavailable in this build, because (spoiler) we’re also working on significant gameplay improvements on that front.
🧪 How to Join the Playtest
The playtest is open to everyone and available right now on a dedicated Steam branch. To access it:
Open your Steam Library.
Right-click on Extra Coin → Properties.
Go to the Betas tab.
Under Beta Participation, select dlc_playtest from the dropdown menu.
Wait for the short update to download — and you’re in!
Once you’ve played, we’d love to hear your thoughts. You can leave feedback in the dedicated Discussion thread on Steam or join the conversation on our Discord server.
🎲 Redefining Playstyles
This update completely reworks the relationship between Stats and Shot types, giving each attribute a clear and unique purpose. Previously, effective builds forced players to max Strength or to raise all stats equally. Now, every stat defines its own playstyle:
Strength → Regular Shot Determines Regular Shot velocity.
Dexterity → Slice Shot Determines Slice Shot velocity (curvature is now fixed).
Speed → Quick Shot Determines Quick Shot (formerly Power Shot) velocity and the number of Consecutive Hits required to charge it.
⚠️ Trick Shots and the special Slice Shot effect that made balls stick to walls have been temporarily removed.
This change makes every build path distinct, rewarding experimentation and specialized playstyles.
🤖 AI Behaviour
This update significantly refines how the AI reads the game, reacts to the ball, and adapts to each champion’s strengths.
increased the gap between difficulty levels — easier at low settings, tougher at high ones
removed a behavior that prevented the AI from intercepting the ball when it bounced back into its own field without being hit again by the opponent
improved positioning: the AI now considers the opponent’s placement in the field (Shadow Movement)
added AI playstyle, now adapting to its stats, resulting in more personality-driven matches
improved Ultimate usage and reaction behaviors
🥊 Champions' Builds
All champions have been redefined to reflect their thematic identity. Each now has unique philosophy, playstyle and build.
Boomcake
⛔BEFORE (Full Aggression): strong Regular Shots and a kit based on avoiding getting hit to perform Quick Shots frequently.
✅AFTER (Ultimate Oriented): balanced Stats, all buffed while the Ultimate is active.
Duck God
⛔BEFORE (No Legs Day): very slow Speed but extremely strong Regular and Slice Shots.
✅AFTER (Big Bonk): Speed increases when getting hit, and only Regular Shots remain very strong.
Fernando
Same as always, just some Stats tuning (we 💜 Fernando)
Frankie
⛔BEFORE (Full Defense): based on avoiding damage while increasing lives during the match.
✅AFTER (Full Tank): significantly boosts life increment and recovery rate.
Moloch
⛔BEFORE (Power Up & Interfere): boosts Stats by bouncing the ball on Side Walls while taking away the opponent’s abilities.
✅AFTER (Build Up & Explode): charges the Ultimate by bouncing the ball on the walls, then unleashes it together with the Quick Shot to bring hell upon the opponent.
PC-Boy
⛔BEFORE (Early Game): starts the game with high Stats that degraded every point and reset at the end of the game.
✅AFTER (Early Point): starts each point with high Stats that degrade the first four times you or your opponent take damage and reset at the end of the point.
Penny
⛔BEFORE (Speed Up Boy!): starts with 3 lives instead of 4, loses the Quick Shot but endlessly increases the ball’s velocity by bouncing it on Side Walls.
✅AFTER (Chaos! Chaos!): starts with 3 lives instead of 4, keeps the Quick Shot, increases ball velocity up to 50%, and Dash distance is increased by 50%.
Theia
⛔BEFORE (Vampire): steals the opponent’s Stats and lives.
✅AFTER (Mastery & Control): steals opponent’s lives and gradually increases her Stats by avoiding damage.
Skinny
⛔BEFORE (Only Stats): high Stats and no abilities.
✅AFTER (Lil’ Cheater): hits the ball when he shouldn’t and buffs himself without telling anybody.
The Doctor
⛔BEFORE (Broken Defense): charges his Ultimate by dashing and slows the ball down while it’s active.
✅AFTER (Unfair Defense): also heals himself when taking too much damage, but moves slower.
Weelson
⛔BEFORE (Weak but Dangerous): Quick Shots are slow but deal double damage; the Ultimate removes movement but turns the Dash into a Teleport.
✅AFTER (Glass Cannon): has only two lives, but every Shot deals double damage, and the Ultimate no longer removes movement — it transforms every Shot into a Teleport Shot.
Zorg
⛔BEFORE (Wall Builder): focuses on charging up the Ultimate and using it at the right moment.
✅AFTER (Patient Samurai): Ultimate charges slower, but he’s the fastest-moving Champion and fires the strongest Quick Shots.
⚡ Champions' Skills
Ultimates
Heavy Artillery: reduced duration
Gigantomachia: reduced duration + 🔃 removed body ball deflection + decreases Speed by 40
DDDos: reduced duration
Lightspeed: 🔃 teleport now triggers automatically on any Shot; you no longer lose movement.
Ultra Force Obstacle: reduced duration
Roll of the Dice: 🔃 grants an all-Stats buff based on a d6 roll (1 = +5 | 2 = +10 | 3 = +15 | 4 = +20 | 5 = +25 | 6 = +30)
Life Thirst: increased duration
Secret Sparkle: reduced duration + 🔃 it’s a secret, only Skinny knows…
One Kiss: 🔃 life is recovered at the end of the Ultimate instead of the start
Fire Pillars: increased duration
Passive Skills
Cannon Ball: reduced tier + 🔃 reduced stat penalty
Rusty Saw: reduced cost + 🔃 removed stat penalty
O/C Microchip: 🔃 increased stats bonus + increased stats penalty, but it now applies up to a maximum of 4 times, when someone loses a life + the effect is reset at the end of each point instead of each game
Cherry Bomb: reduced tier
Moka Pot: 🔃 ultimate is now charged at the beginning of each point instead of each game
Cup of Tea: 🔃 stats increase while your ultimate is active instead of after opponent’s activation
Laurel Crown: reduced cost
Blue Panic Button: 🔃 fewer consecutive damages needed to trigger + reduced Speed bonus
Lit Leaf: 🔃 start each game with 2 lives instead of 1
Bent Root: reduced tier; reduced cost
Flame Crown: 🔃 works with any Shot, not only Slice Shots
Short Match: reduced cost
Halo Off: 🔃 Strength increases by hitting any wall, not only the opponent’s
Crooked Unicycle: 🔃 increased dash distance instead of all-stats buff until damage
Rubber Hammer: 🔃 ball acceleration now capped at 50%
Water Gun: reduced tier + 🔃 Strength bonus resets upon taking damage
Water Balloon: 🔃 stat bonus now resets upon taking damage instead of decreasing by 10
Extra Soul: reduced tier
Asthma Inhaler: 🔃 increased stat bonus
Tied Shoelaces: 🔃 reduced cap on Speed bonus
Black Feather: 🔃 dashing now charges the ultimate faster
Cartoon Band-Aid: reduced tier and cost + 🔃 now grants +1 life until the end of the point if you lose 2 lives consecutively
Broken Leg: 🔃 now halves Speed instead of reducing Quick Shot power
Rechargeable Cell: 🔃 now charges the ultimate instead of increasing charge rate
Piggy Bank: 🔃 now resets at the end of the point
Golden Key: 🔃 Quick Shot is charged for only 2 seconds
🆕 \[NEW] Wooden Bone: Your lives are halved, but your Shots deal double damage.
🆕 \[NEW] Balloon Dog: Each time the ball touches a Side Wall after you hit it, the number of Consecutive shots required to charge the Quick Shot decreases by 1.
🌈 New Champion
A new champion from outer space! Lady Jam thinks that everything should be shiny and colorful, which is why she prefers to use the Quick Shot most of the time.
“Fast and pretty, just like me!” she told the reporters.
