Hello adventurers! Patch 1.5 is now live, and it’s packed with updates to clean things up and smooth things out. As always, thanks for continuing to play Meridian and be a part of our community.
Special Note
The GPU Efficiency setting is now enabled by default to give players the smoothest experience. If you’d rather let the game push your graphics hardware to its limits, just uncheck this option.

Gameplay Changes
Murderers can now purchase from lawful NPCs even in the presence of a DM.
Guild allies can now properly exit allied guild halls.
Casting Rescue in a rented Ko’catan room now correctly sends you to The Aerie Guest House.
Shroud’s description now lists the required reagents, replacing the vague reference to “a large amount of inexpensive reagents.”
Mana Focus now provides mana regeneration based on spellpower.
NPC message timing has been adjusted to reduce spam, with more refined controls added for future customization.
Eating while under the effects of Second Wind is no longer possible, preventing wasted food.
Players now receive a notification from Rok if an Assassins game cannot start due to lack of participation.
NPCs involved in the Shal’ille, Faren, and Qor disciple quests now provide players with a hint whenever the quest advances successfully, giving clearer feedback.
The Qor disciple quest now includes quotation marks around NPC dialogue that players need to repeat, making it clearer what to say.
The Frogman monster loot table has been updated with drops fitting its role as an evil-aligned target, including mushrooms, berries, entroots, dark angel feathers, and more.
Use of the Chalice of Rain is now open to all players, but restricted for those who have recently attacked another player.
Shadow Rift is no longer castable in non-combat rooms, including inns, taverns, adventurer halls, many town areas, rented rooms, and others.
Roq and Wulfgang now offer more conservative purchase prices to balance their ability to buy any item.
Hanla zax’Ta now properly sells kriipa claws.
Identify now temporarily reveals an item’s true name, description, and color, if applicable.
The Jala insignia is now attainable through a quest.
The Mollusk Creature now begins and emerges from its intended buried state.
Item Changes
The Jala Necklace’s weight and bulk have been reduced to match other God’s Gifts.
Rented room decorations now support directional placement. Multi-sided objects, such as the personal chest, will face the player’s direction when placed.
The Jewel of Froz now has a distinct broken, dull state, making it easier to distinguish from charged jewels.
The Healing Wand now has a broken state.
World Changes
Entry to Brax is now possible as a solo player via the Ancient Place.
Entering Jasper Tavern has been made easier.
Many rooms across Meridian—including towns and guild halls—now support ambient lighting effects.
Various missing textures and minor room issues have been corrected across Meridian.
Client Changes
NPC exchange lists now display numbered items first (alphabetically), followed by single items (alphabetically), matching container sorting.
New player signup now handles invalid characters more gracefully.
The Who list now retains player name coloring after using Morph.
Map annotation tooltips no longer appear unexpectedly when other dialogs are open. Tooltips are also disabled when the minimap or map annotations are turned off.
The Mail dialog now supports multi-select deletion.
The Configuration menu has been removed. Keybind settings are now located under tabs in the Preferences menu.
GPU Efficiency mode is now enabled by default.
Portuguese translations have been improved across several dialog windows.
Nostalgic-style “ads” added to the character selection screen.
Administration & Development
The BlakSton Server window now displays log, error, and debug messages in a copyable dialog instead of a message box. Double-clicking a log line opens the text pre-selected.
A .clang-format file and ignore list have been added to standardize code style across C/C++ directories, improving consistency and cleaning up legacy formatting.
The Message of the Day dialog now supports multi-monitor setups.
