We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season while we have been working in the background on the next Major Update.
2024 was a whirlwind year for us โ at the first quater we were on the the edge of survival. I had to spend a lot of energy and time to save the company and the crew. I started working on side to earn money addressing the many challenges and surprises that came with it was incredibly rewarding but also exhausting.
In the mid of the year it turns that we successfully saved the crew, the company and all ours developments.
Toward the end of the year, it was time to step back, rest, and reconnect with why we started this journey: our love for games and Trigon: Space Story. And we used this time to make our next game update for you.

๐น Since the game support is all on us weโve decided to share exclusive Early Access to upcoming updates on our Test Branch for everyone who are willing to provide a feedback.
๐น We made the first playtest during this holiday season via our Discord and our Trigon Test Pilots volunteers. Many thanks for all of you who provided a feedback and helped with the current version we presenting here.

โ ๏ธ If you want to continue using your saves on the non-test version, make sure to back them up before playing on the Test Branch. Saves from newer version will not be compatible with current version.

Let's get startedโจ
Step 1. Right click on Trigon: Space Story in your Steam library. A window will pop up click on properties.
Step 2. In the pop-up window, select the "Betas" tab.
The drop-down menu that says ''Select the beta you would like to opt info'' click and Select public_test - public test branch
The public test Branch will start downloading. That is it you are welcome to enjoy the update with exclusive early access.
All eyes on meโจ What is new? Summary by Trigon Test Pilots
๐น The game now depends more on your decisions โ whether to grind further or leave the sector, hire more mercenaries to reduce your bounty. Itโs still the same Trigon, but decisions feel more impactful.
๐น The new weapon control buttons might not be essential on normal difficulty, but on hard, youโll need to time your shots carefully โ spamming bursts is no longer an option.
๐น New balance. The early game has become tougher โ you need to unlock new weapons to progress.
๐น Food is not a problem anymore.
(๐คก Nah, I can't believe that! This is still the biggest negative review on Steam for us)
๐น The bounty progression system works great. Previously, you could farm levels endlessly, but now, around the third bounty level, itโs time to move on. This creates a solid risk-and-reward dynamic.
๐น Combat has become more intense. Victory or defeat is decided in the first few seconds: either you manage to disable at least one enemy system, or you sink. Thereโs still room for improvement here, but the tension is constant.
๐น Each station now has its own economy: some have cheaper weapons, others specialize in tech. This makes traveling between stations more meaningful.
๐น The game has become more dynamic and skill-based rather than grind-focused. Itโs more engaging now, though newcomers might find it challenging.

๐พ Enemy Ships Rework
- Complete rebalance of all enemy ships.
- Added 200+ new ship presets.
- Enemies now have classes and specialisations.
- Updated unique AI behaviors and strategies.
๐ Quest Generation Overhaul
- Reworked quest generation.
- Encounters and challenges scale better.
- You may face different game situations earlier and less challenging for the first time to be ready for the challenging one on the late game stage.
๐ Reward System Update
- Rewards for defeating enemies have been rebalanced, offering more satisfying loot.
๐๐ช Gatekeepers Rework
- Difficulty now scales by sector, not by Bounty Level.
- Speedrunning sectors is harder, but clearing them provides more predictable challenges.

๐ Food Consumption
- Humans: 2 โ 1
- Rakhi: 3 โ 2
- Adjusted starting food supplies, station generation, and food-based rewards.
๐ Experience Gain
- Reduced experience gain rate for a more balanced progression curve.
๐ซ Weapon Adjustments
- Tweaks to the stats of certain weapons and projectiles for improved combat balance.

๐น Fixed errors when ejecting empty cryo chambers.
๐ Fixed Error when crew returning to non-existent positions on enemy ships while aboard.
๐น Resolved bugs when units were healing in the wrong medbay, operating a system located in a different section, or not operating a system in that section.
๐น Fixed Errors preventing sending a unit to a section.
๐ Resolved issues with dead units occupying space and blocking actions.
๐ Fixed Error where it was impossible to close the reward window if units were added or removed from rewards.
๐ Fixed Error causing a unit popup in the management screen to persist constantly, showing a popup of an empty unit, not the current one.
๐ Fixed Error when 16:9 and 16:10 screen resolutions were missing from permissions settings. Now in such cases, the current screen resolution will be taken, and it cannot be changed in the settings.
๐ Fixed crashes caused by quickly clicking โStartโ in Sandbox mode.
๐ Fixed Error when placing an engineer with the โMaster-Engineerโ ability into a cryo chamber, giving additional levels to the cryo chamber.
๐ Fixed Error causing the cryo chamber to completely break if the โMaster-Engineerโ engineer was removed from the cryo chamber section.
๐น Corrected targeting issues with enemy missile weapons.
๐ Fixed Error when escaping from battle with the entire enemy team aboard the playerโs ship. Now enemies Captains will not teleport themselves and cannot be picked up using the playerโs teleporter.
๐น Fixed bugs with quest progression.
๐ Fixed Error in a quest where an enemy during the battle ceased to be an enemy, could not be targeted, and stopped shooting.
๐ Description of the life support system corrected.

Enemy Spaceship Editor The next Major Update will adds official mod support for you. This marks the beginning of a new era for Trigon: Space Story, where your creativity can truly flourish. We can't wait to see what ingenious modifications and additions you'll bring!

Trigon: Space Story Workshop will enter its testing phase when next major update rolls out on public test branch. To see and use the Workshop, you will not only need to switch to the public test build but also join a dedicated group on Steam and Discord.
The next update is in early production stage now - bringing the official mod support, and that very special something else.
