Avatar Latest News:
[p align="start"]Last week we released the long awaited Player Avatar update. On Wednesday we shared an update about where we're at and what we're focusing on. Today's patch update already includes a number of fixes and updates for the Avatar, but to keep you in the loop with our current focus for the project, here are our current priorities for the Player Avatar:Focus on fixing Critical Bugs and known issues
Finish off the outstanding work to bring all items in line with the new Avatar. That includes ensuring none of the old Avatar skin is present on worn items.
Consider which modifications to Avatar faces or body proportions are necessary and possible based on evolving community feedback.

A Farewell to Mod Stu
[p align="start"]We very recently bid a fond farewell to Mod Stu - As such and iconic and long-standing member of the team, we felt it was only right to dedicate some space in todays blog to sharing Mod Stu's goodbye message:[p align="start"]Greetings, fellow players. After nearly 20 years developing content at Jagex and 14 contributing to RuneScape, the time has finally come to leave a team and community I cherish very much and move onto the next chapter in my life.[p align="start"]A highlight has been our shift to open communication, engaging directly with you about our updates. Your feedback shapes our designs, and your passion has deepened my understanding of RuneScape's devoted community and diverse needs. Your deep conversations, shared stories and even getting to meet some of you in person has made this 'job' a personal experience and labour of love.[p align="start"]Some of my favourite updates over the years have been getting to:
inherit TzHaar curatorship ("the T is silent") and complete the Ga'al story with my first RuneScape quest, "The Brink of Extinction"
name the second Elder God
develop "The Death of Chivalry", "Dimension of Disaster" and Davendale with Mod Osborne
finish the Myreque quest series with Mod Rowley and Mod Orion
rework Shield of Arrav and Imp Catcher and Sheep Shearer and Demon Slayer (again)
make Prif a thing
make the Arc a thing
make flying metal dragons a thing
make Stutorials a thing
make Fletching and the Player Owned House and a whole lot more F2P
make Excalibur not so shouty
get master trimmed completionist cape
extend the lore in Memorial to Guthix in ways we're still paying off a decade later
finish the Mining & Smithing rework
finish Fern's story after Battle of the Monolith
tell you all how to pronounce vis wax ('vis'-to-rhyme-with-'fleece'; blame Latin)
giggle like children throughout 'Accidental' Fletching & Firemaking (alternate title: "Bill & Ben's Effluent Egg Venture") with Mod Abe
assist Mod Raven in his musical swan song and I'm not sorry
add XP blocking and minor resets for skill pures
put tooltips on worldmap resources
name "Requiem for a Dragon"
be the least convincing Ozan ever
declutter Lumbridge
fix Camelot
fix Christmas and tell my most personal story with "Cold Front"
fix things you'll never notice but felt really good in the Dungeoneering remaster
fix more things that may or may not ship with Leagues but we'll see
dramatically voice so many behind the scenes videos
RuneFest
examines (and I shall not elaborate)
fly some particularly questionable achievement names under the radar
do countless things to quest systems and quest data and tutorials and early game and achievements that you probably don't remember but you'd probably miss if they were gone
A note on Tuesday Maintenance
[p align="start"]Since February both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape have been running an additional maintenance on Tuesdays as part of our ongoing work to improve the infrastructure and core experience of our games, these maintenance will continue but we are adding in an additional small step.[p align="start"]Alongside taking down the worlds for 20-30 mins for this maintenance we will be keeping a handful of worlds offline for an additional 30 mins.[p align="start"]This should have minimal impact on regular playing as you will still be able to access a plethora of worlds once the maintenance is complete but you may notice a few worlds missing from the world list.
