Hey all!
And what an insanely busy 2026 it's been so far! The team have been flat out since we returned in the new year, and have been cooking up some crazy stuff for you all.
We've just deployed a brand new update to our Beta Branch on Steam, which you can jump into right now!
Let's check out what's coming in our next update 👇
- Exploration Update - The team have completely destroyed the current way you navigate through Windblown. Replacing it with a dynamic and more freeing approach. Dash through much larger biomes, tackling things in your own order.
- New Map - This allows you to see your surroundings, know the location of important entities and objects, and teleport to your teammates.
- New Volumetric clouds - Replacing the flat sea of clouds under the levels with stunning, extra fluffy ones! (This can be toggled In the graphics panel)#
- New Rare items - Frend’s loyalty program is expanded. Unlock a new altar in the Ark where you can spend Cogs to increase your chance to get enhanced items during your expeditions. Complete the 3 stages of the altar to also unlock a new skin variant!
- New Enemy Variants in higher difficulties - You’ll find new challenges in Golem Gardens (including a new Boss), Factory, Fungal Swamp and Rat Village!
You'll also find a bunch more coming in this update too, including a new Alterattack tutorial, along with the onboarding narrative receiving an update!

How to access the beta
- Go to your Steam game library.
- Right click on Windblown and click "properties".
- Select the tab "Betas".
- In the first dropdown box select "public_beta"
- Click close and wait for the update to finish downloading.
