February 2024 Game Update
Read the original on Steam ↗Decided to post my updates for the game here. Figured it's the best place for transparency and helps communication as I'm pretty bad at it. This will be brief I promise!
Development
It's coming along really well. The goal of the game has been to reach 200 waves with a final boss. My original timeline was to launch for last Christmas but I extended the deadline to add more bosses and to expand on the enemies to make them more fun. I'm now at Wave 180 and all I need to do is finish one more enemy and them put together the last boss of the game. Very excited to get this into everyone's hands! This likely means I'll be releasing in the next two months if all goes well.
The game looks relatively more polished than the trailer but for the sake of time, I won't be updating it to showcase the updated graphics.
My last thought is about adding an endless mode after wave 200 for players who want to keep sinking their teeth in. It'll likely be a ham-fisted feature and not well balanced but it'll allow endless playability post-game.
Bad News / Malware
Seems like someone snagged the domain for www.ForestOfTails.com and is spreading malware. I'm doing everything in my power to have the website taken down but so far I've made no progress. It's frustrating but I will continue to try to solve the problem. The game will be released on Steam so please please please do not go to the website to try and snag the game early. I'm worried about releasing the game while the website is still active but it's becoming something out of my control.
