Thank you very much for playing Puzzles for Clef! We've been hard at work fixing all the issues discovered by you, the players, and this is the first patch containing everything we've managed to reproduce and fix as soon as possible. More updates will happen in the future, of course, and some of those will contain brand-new content as well, so stay tuned!
Now, for the actual patch notes:
General
- Removed outdated art.
- Updated various texts of the game.
- Fixed background music stopping whenever all the audio channels were busy.
- Fixed background music tracks not clearing up properly and playing along with the following background music tracks as a result.
- Fixed the issue with endless loading whenever a location switch was triggered while guiding a moth.
- Fixed the dash character in both the English and Ukrainian localizations.
- Fixed “Interact”/”Enter”/etc. prompts in the Ukrainian localization.
- Fixed “Interact”/”Enter”/etc. prompts not auto-updating on localization change.
- Fixed various item names appearing in English while playing with the Ukrainian localization.
- Fixed tutorials in Ukrainian not appearing properly while playing with the Ukrainian localization.
- Fixed the main menu buttons not auto-updating upon localization change.
- Fixed the gamepad-related tutorials not appearing properly while playing with a gamepad.
House of the Bell Keeper
- Fixed certain animations.
- Fixed lighting positioning.
- Fixed the airship texture.
- Fixed English phrase appearing when reaching the House of the Bell Keeper while playing with the Ukrainian localization.
Bamboo Forest
- Fixed the tent’s seams.
- Fixed camera behavior.
- Updated Toro lantern visuals.
- Fixed the diary’s background on a specific page.
- Fixed randomized Hans’ phrase in Ukrainian localization.
Time Tower
- Updated location’s physical layout.
- Fixed a certain Bird’s visuals.
- Changed one rung’s location slightly to better reflect the hint for it.
- Fixed the physical layout of the area beneath the tree stump to make getting stuck in the walls impossible.
- Updated the tree stump tune to be properly usable from beneath the tree stump as well.
- Disabled the platforms turning off after the tree stump tune while beneath the tree stump to facilitate the above.
- Fixed a certain token’s visuals.
- Fixed a hidden zone.
- Added a hole under the sign to make the rung search a bit more fair.
- Added checkmarks to the diary for the successfully collected rungs.
Underground Library
- Optimized books’ textures in an attempt to fix the “white covers/pages” issue.
Crystal Mines
- Improved the Delta’s visuals.
- Updated the conveyor belts visuals.
- Fixed camera behavior. (x3)
- Updated the Delta fragment card visuals to properly correspond to the actual place it represents.
- Updated the outer walls visuals. (x2)
- Fixed steps sfx.
- Fixed the first Delta interaction dialogue.
- Fixed the algorithm that determines whether the Delta is solved.
Crystal Orangerie
- Updated the Cargo Delivery System’s control panel’s visuals to give a better idea of what each lever is responsible for.
- Updated location’s physical layout.
- Fixed the first Flower door interaction dialogue.
- Fixed the Cargo Delivery System’s middle elevator’s top platform positioning to disable a possible skip of this puzzle.
- Fixed the entrance to the Orangerie getting unlocked sooner than intended.
- Fixed Tove’s sheet music becoming unavailable once you leave her workshop without picking it up.
- Fixed Tove’s snowdrops tune being usable only once.
Rose Maze
- Updated location’s physical layout.
- Fixed platform width.
- Fixed steps sfx. (x2)
- Updated the way saving works around the maze to make getting stuck in there nearly impossible.
Sky Castle
- Fixed the hint for the circles puzzle (purely visual update).
- Fixed Reuel’s phrase about the local Rabbit Hole.
- Updated location’s physical layout. (x2)

- Fixed the moment when the portrait and its supporting elements appear in the diary.
- Added vertical arrows to the trophy room puzzle so that it was easier to understand which actions were possible.
Musical Salon
- Extended the funicular’s rope (purely visual update).
- Updated xylophone hint (specifically the shape of the hole: circular -> oval).
- Fixed steps sfx.
Time Observatory
- Fixed the telescope view (purely visual update).
- Fixed the constellation coordinates in the diary.
- Fixed Percival’s phrase about the number of turns to beat his puzzle in.
- Fixed revealable symbols on the columns.
- Fixed missing moth vessel in front of the projector.
- Fixed hidden zone triggering during the elevator ride.
- Fixed the story flow issues related to the premature exiting of the telescope view.
- Made the “Pause” and “Jump” buttons quit the telescope view along with the original “Interact” button.
