It's been a while since our last official announcement in December 2023. First, I apologize for the long silence. Here's an update on what we've been working on over the past six months.
Erabit is now taking over the maintenance and updates for Star Survivor
Due to Ken's busy schedule and personal challenges, he has found it difficult to maintain the game. After discussing it, Ken entrusted Star Survivor to Erabit. Following his design ideas and roadmap, we will continue to fix the game's issues and add new content. Actually, we already have a substantial content update planned.
Fixing existing issues
We have reviewed your feedback and comments, identified the most critical bugs, and have already begun fixing them. You can see these fixes in the latest game update:
- Memory leak: The mobile porting team has resolved this issue, and we are now porting the fix back to the PC version. Soon, you won't have to restart the game every 30 minutes.
- Beam weapon bug: Fixed an issue where beam weapons wouldn't hit enemies when the ship was rotating.
- Frame drops with controllers: Fixed a problem causing severe frame drops after using a controller.
- Enemy freeze bug: Fixed a bug causing enemies to freeze and stop moving.
- Achievement adjustments: Adjusted the values of achievements so they could be regained.
We also have some planned fixes that you will see in future update announcements.
New game content
In addition to ongoing maintenance, we will also add new content and optimizations based on Ken's design ideas: optimized UI displays, new cards, new spaceships, and more. When we're ready, we'll recruit tester players from the Steam community and Discord. Stay tuned!
Leaving Early Access
Early Access has helped Star Survivor become a better game, and we are very grateful for your support. As previously mentioned, we believe the game content is nearly complete (although some bugs still need fixing, which we will address soon). We plan to exit Early Access very soon. This does not mean the end of game maintenance but rather a new beginning. We will release a new content pack that marks the end of Early Access, featuring new ships, a ship skin system, new cards, and a new challenge mode.
