SEVERANCE v0.9.2.0 - ROAD TO 1.0
Another update is now live as we continue pushing SEVERANCE towards full release.
v0.9.2.0 focuses on improving Ghost AI behaviour, adding more opportunities for scares and photo rewards, alongside another round of bug fixes and quality of life improvements.
NEW CONTENT
New Ghost Event
The Ghost AI has received a new Ghost Events, adding more variety to encounters throughout a contract.
This is a Shadow Ghost event
GHOST BEHAVIOUR CHANGES
Ghost AI is now blinded by stuns
Stunning the Ghost during a hunt will now temporarily cause it to lose track of the player it is chasing.
Previously, a stun could stop the Ghost momentarily while it continued tracking its target. This change should make successful stuns considerably more useful and give players a better opportunity to escape or reposition.
Ghost Screech removed from Ghost AI
The Ghost Screech ability has been removed from the standard Ghost AI.
Screech is an ability intended to counter Holy Water when playing as the Ghost Player, and feedback suggested that its inclusion on the AI Ghost felt more frustrating than meaningful.
IMPROVEMENTS
Improved Arm Wall Avoidance, making arm movement less snappy when passing close to objects and surfaces.
Added an Easy Door option to Settings. When enabled, doors can be opened and closed using the interact button instead of manually dragging them.
Ghosts now have a 100% chance to leave UV footprints when stepping in Salt.
These footprints do not count as Wraith or Hidden evidence.
The Ghost AI will now remain inactive until the front door of the location has been opened.
Increased the brightness of the UV Light.
The Laser Grid will now reveal the Ghost AI more often than it will the Ghost Player
BUG FIXES
Fixed an issue where the player's shoulder could become visible while turning during a sprint.
Fixed an issue where the Ghost Player could remain visible after a Cursed Hunt.
Fixed an issue where UV evidence wasn't counted as a valid photo when photographing a footprint created by Salt.
Prevented standard Ghost Hunts from conflicting with the Cursed Ritual countdown.
Fixed a rare issue that could cause a character to lose their clothing when loading into a lobby.
ROAD TO 1.0
The push towards SEVERANCE 1.0 continues.
These updates are increasingly focused on polishing existing systems, improving readability and player feedback, tightening Ghost behaviour, and removing the smaller issues that can make the overall experience feel less polished.
There is still plenty more being worked on ahead of full release.
Thank you to everyone continuing to play, report bugs and provide feedback.
